All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

Our wings are not tired.

because the AMA is also in the camp of fuck-you-we-publish-what-we-want-and-science-is-real-you-absolute-shitheads.

Years ago I wouldn't have expected this, but in recent years I have applauded their press releases that have been pro-science and common sense.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Punishingly Intricate

That is fantastic, Steph! I just found out one of my former co-workers is in the PMO at AMA.

Today is my last full-time workday for the foreseeable future. Thanks, Trump voters! My husband is having lunch with his aunt today who is a Trump voter (of the evangelical “Christian “ ilk) and I told him to be sure to thank her for putting me out of work.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh Teppy, that is wonderful!

I know we sort of hate Amazon, but there is also a wonderful thing going on with Pop Culture Jeopardy. This format is that there are teams of three. There are throuples. there are moms with their kids. there are dads with their kids, there are gay couples with a female BFF. there are gay couples with a male BFF. There are non binary folks, there are coworkers, there are Canadians, There are alumni. there are New Yorkers' borough folks made up of both police and LGBTQ+ folks on the same team. It is a joy. They are also very supportive of each other.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's awesome, Tep! Who knew I would fangirl the AMA? That I would squee over your editing is much more expected

{{{lisah}}} I hope your husband's aunt feels bad and thinks about what she's done. I am usually joking when I say that, but not now.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

When I edited that article, I remember asking Tim if my gender expression was "dirty hobo." (Ha!) And he said no, "dirty hobo" is just my work persona. Which, y'know, fair.

Ugh, lisah. I'm sorry.

Because books.

i If this pattern continues, surgery will probably happen very very soon. And that's fine

I had my left hand done, and it really is easy. As soon as I got on the table, they knocked me out, and I woke up what felt like 10 min later (but was, of course, longer), pretty groggy, but basically fine. I did it on a Friday morning so I had the weekend to rest, and by Monday I was back at work (at the bakery, where I was careful not to grab anything too heavy with my left hand). And that was it! It's never bothered me again, at least not in that wrist.

lisah, that just sucks for you. I'm sorry.

I did a work thing that has been on my to do list for months and it literally took 15 minutes!!!

When I do that, it's both awesome and frustrating. Awesome, because: it's done! And it only took 15 minutes! But frustrating because: it was only 15 minutes—why didn't I do it sooner to get it over with?

It's 78 and windy here, and the pressure is changing drastically as a storm is coming in for tomorrow, and my head is starting to get wonky. But fortunately I prevailed in the Migraine Meds Preauthorization Saga of 2025, so I have Ubrelvy if an actual migraine shows up. In the meantime I took Excedrine Migraine (which is acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine), which honestly works pretty well if I take it at the very very very first sign of a maybe-migraine. So fingers are crossed!
