Can't even shout, Can't even cry. The Gentlemen are coming by. Looking in windows, knocking on doors. They need to take seven, and they might take yours. Can't call to mom, can't say a word. You're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

When my grandmother was getting older, my dad got a system for her that had this button that she was supposed to press every morning. If she didn't press it by a certain time, then the company would call my dad.

Plei, I'm so sorry -- that's awful.

My mom and dads retirement community was a free standing house, but had a thing where if you didn’t trip a sensor in the kitchen by 10am they’d start calling you, and if you didn’t answer they’d come find you. Now my dad is just in an apartment building near my sister but he has an Apple Watch to say “hey siri call (whoever)” and she has cameras and goes over there daily.

Plei I’m so sorry about your family’s house! I hope your brother is ok, and glad the ones who would’ve had difficulty evacuating weren’t in there but still yikes!! I’m sure it’s going to be a long messy hassle and something tells me you’ll have to be way more involved than you want to be.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, Plei! I'm sorry.

And sorry I have been reading along on a delay here and never saying anything! Please know I have been thinking all of the appropriate reactions.

Oh, Plei, I'm so sorry. That the humans are physically OK is good to know, but what devastating loss.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh no, Plei!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh Plei! That is terrible. Much ~ma to you all.

And sorry I have been reading along on a delay here and never saying anything! Please know I have been thinking all of the appropriate reactions.

Agreed. I am trying. We need our people more than ever. I am watching The Pitt, and they just had a lady who was an online gamer in Pittsburgh who had a stroke, and she was brought to the ER because she missed a game. Someone from Mumbai called someone in Houston, who called Pittsburgh for a welfare check, and she seems to be saved.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh no, Plei! I'm sorry about your folks' house.

I had Mom over for lunch today, and not only did Molly not immediately flee to hide, Jackson actually put up with being petted for a bit.
