I did 20,000 steps on Friday and again today, and I’m stiff as hell.
Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
SF is non-Euclidean geometry
Tom, I did about that on Friday, too, and yeah. Stiff doesn't begin to cover it. I did less yesterday, but still a bunch. Today's the first day I haven't beaten my move goal by mid-afternoon.

Hear hear. About to engage in some yoga stretches to assist some of these muscles.
Friends, I'm so very greatful for the opportunity to be able to see so many of you - circumstances awful as they are. I am sure that some language, somewhere, has a term to the feeling that is meeting F2F for the first time ~30 people you've been exchanging pixels with for the past 17 years. I have no other words but 'love' and 'awe'. I am thankful for knowing you and being a part of this place.
Thank you to everyone who invited me to their place, showed me around, fed me (and remembered to ask if everything is vegetarian and not spicy), talked and laughed and teared with me. I love y'all. You're all invited to Jerusalem when we're less of a dumpster fire, I will happily return the favor.
It was funny seeing people on the livestream, people I haven't seen in person for years, and thinking...yes, they still look like who they are.
I saw Jess three weeks ago, but I didn’t recognize her at first because her hair was a different color.

The universal Buffista experience. (Not necessarily just with Jess.)
I'm home safe and sound! It was absolutely amazing seeing so many friendly faces again after so long, and putting faces to some names. Utterly delightful. My liver is exercised, as are my legs. We walked from Adagio to Board Room this morning and it was, as indicated above, made of uphill.
The dude really wanted to ride in a robot car so we took a Waymo from brunch back to the hotel. And two minutes later when I went to post a video of the self driving car (it was trippy)...realized I had left my phone in the self-driving car. Which had already driven away. *headdesk* Because I am made of....forgetfulness? Distraction? Vacation brain? Not seeing things directly in front of my face (or under my backside?)?
My phone (and the Alaska credit card tucked into the phone case) have been turned into the company, but not until we were on a plane back to PDX. As soon as I got home I opened up the find my phone app on my ipad and by golly it was mapping to a location that a quick search confirmed is Waymo HQ. Phone call to them confirmed they have it, but can't/won't ship it, someone has to pick it up in person.
Any SFistas willing to go on a mini adventure to 200 Toland St (Toland btwn Hudson and Galvez) and then ship an iphone to PDX? I will, of course, fund all shipping expenses, probably send you a lil treat from the PNW, and take you out for drinks/dinner next time we're in the same zip code.
eta: I can still send and receive texts via other devices, now that I'm home, so cell number is still a valid means of contact.
I live to perplex the uninitiated.
(And also, HELL do I wish seeing Buffistas every three weeks was a universal Jess experience! Y'all are a fucking BALM TO THE SOUL and I miss you already.)

Yay that it's there, boo that they can't send it! The robocars are weird.
