Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Birthday, -t! May it be a good year ahead!

Feel better soon, LTC. And congratulations, Matilda!

Hi, CaBil!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Hi, CaBil! Good to see you!

Y'all, the data on bird flu is bad. As bad as Covid in 2020. If you have cats that you normally let outside, KEEP THEM INDOORS, because cats can transmit bird flu to humans, and if cats are outside, they'll be exposed to it. And if you aren't currently masking in public places (I wasn't until this past weekend), I really really recommend it.

Also, if you haven't gotten a flu vaccine, it's not too late to get one. This is the worst flu season since 2009. (Also recommended: for everyone, the Covid booster; and for people 50 and older: the shingles vaccine [good for about 7 years] and the pneumonia vaccine [good for 10 years].)

We have an administration now that is deeply, criminally stupid and is trying to remove all publicly accessible data on public health issues, so they're going to act like bird flu is no big deal AND also make it impossible to fact-check that big fat lie. My advice is to assume that shit is very bad and get vaccinated and take other protective measures like masking accordingly. I want you all to be as healthy as possible because I love you all.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hi CaBil!

Office heat update - they have diagnosed the problem and are sourcing the parts needed to fix it. Meanwhile they have cobbled together some kind of workaround so that the big open space where the cubicles are will get heat from somewhere (I can hear air blowing, so I do believe it's trying and maybe by tomorrow it will actually be warm) and people with offices need to leave their doors open. I've got a fleece on over the jacket I wore for my commute and I'm still cold. It's California at sea level so not real cold by other place's standards, but pretty dang chilly for being inside

Oh, wow, Tep, I did not know things were that dire. I'm glad we have you as a resource, I tell you what! When I saw that the AMA was distributing info that used to come from the CDC I thought of you, but I didn't expect you to personally be doing it

Ha! The AMA YouTube page is a very good resource. I'm just reading whatever data I can get my hands on, and starting to worry.

Update from facilities: "We will not be able to adequately heat the area for the remainder of the week." So that's fun.

Ummmm…aren’t there OSHA standards for that, t? Geez.

Also yikes Teppy but tracks with everything we’ve heard—I should be masking but ugh, doing it while dancing or working out is such a pain. And yet nobody wants the flu or the bird flu (or covid again). I did get my flu shot though, go me.

Thrive to spite them

As far as I can tell there isn't bird flu yet in my county but one county over has it .

I have no idea how we are going to keep the cats inside. At least the boys.

I'm glad Matilda is doing well and has college acceptance.

Last year at work the HR person did something for Black History month and this year there is nothing. It doesn't stop our store from being diverse, employees or customers. We even have a customer who is Irish and Jewish. He has an Irish accent and wears a yarmakule.

I haven't been reading anything in a really long time but I tried the Dungeon Crawler Carl books and I'm hooked and almost finished. I'm using Kindle Unlimited. I realize that Amazon is ... Amazon but the library doesn't have the books and ILL can take forever.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is about a guy ...Carl.. this is the blurb "The apocalypse will be televised! Welcome to the first book in the wildly popular and addictive Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman—now with bonus material exclusive to this print edition.

You know what’s worse than breaking up with your girlfriend? Being stuck with her prize-winning show cat. And you know what’s worse than that? An alien invasion, the destruction of all man-made structures on Earth, and the systematic exploitation of all the survivors for a sadistic intergalactic game show. That’s what.

Join Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, as they try to survive the end of the world—or just get to the next level—in a video game–like, trap-filled fantasy dungeon. A dungeon that’s actually the set of a reality television show with countless viewers across the galaxy. Exploding goblins. Magical potions. Deadly, drug-dealing llamas. This ain’t your ordinary game show."

The first two books are short and it really picks up on book 3. I thought it would be kind of like a summer action flick where you don't think about the bad stuff going on in the world of the book but no it's more than that.

But it's also funny. Although the humor is very gross at times, gory but also just a lot of cat humor too. Princess Donut is awesome. The audiobooks are supposed to be amazing. I want them in the original out of print covers because they are very B movie poster style and the current covers are minimalist boring

Oh and in othe good news for me ...instead of having a store manager I kind of try to avoid I have one that I like and sings my praises. He and my team lead playfully argued over who would get my help the other day.

Our wings are not tired.

Hi CaBil!

No heat means paid leave, right?
