Anyway...I have to go to the AT&T store tomorrow to get a QR code.
Your life is being taken over by QR codes.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Who is watching cspan?
Your life is being taken over by QR codes.
And not in that sexy way we all associate with QR codes!
[I've fuckin' hated them since restaurants stopped handing out menus and would point at the QR code on the table! Fuck you, restaurants, there's NO FOMITE TRANSMISSION. Sorry. I hate them.]
"NFL will remove 'End Racism' from the end zones ahead of Super Bowl. The announcement comes the same day a White House official told NBC News that President Donald Trump would be attending the game."
Two freaking days after Roger Goodall said DEI would stay alive and well in the NFL.
I'm grossed out.
I know all OIGs were sent home, but I sent am email to the Treasury OIG fir tax admin naming the DOGE employees that have been identified as people I am concerned have possibly gained access to my tax information.
Probably does nothing, but felt good.
Those assholes need to be brought before Congress and have handed down to them whatever an unauthorized employee going into those systems would receive. Firing for one, fines? Banned from future security clearance? Added to watchlists?
There's a ton of federal cyber-security laws they are probably breaking. Not that it matters: nobody will prosecute any of them.
I had about ten minutes of hope that we would not be called into the office next week full time, but I was wrong.
As for Congress, I want the Democrats to be chaining themselves to the door of the Treasury Department. Filibustering for three days. Being sand in the gears. Stop voting for ANY of Trump's nominees. (And throw Fetterman the fuck out, he's getting to be as bad as Sinema. Strokes suck.)
We keep hearing this is illegal and that is illegal, but it doesn't matter if it will never be enforced.
The Dems are making noises about getting serious about stopping things in Congress. Why were they not ready to do this on day one? Did they learn nothing from Mitch? Be like Mitch! Don't approve anyone. No judges, including SCOTUS. Bring it to a complete halt. Tuberville brought things to a halt in the minority. Dig deep into the rules! Oh hey, use their playbook and break the rules!
Called and left a voicemail for my representative this morning. I'm pretty pleased with what he's been doing so I mentioned that as well as my concern du jour. He had a phone in town hall on Wednesday but I forgot about it until after it happened, alas. I've gotten replies to emails to both my senators, so that is not totally useless. It does seem like they are both rolling up their sleeves and getting to work.
SCREAMS INTO THE VOID. . . . just in general
I refuse to get on an emotional rollercoaster where I'm whipsawed by every stupid thing Trump says.
The whole thing about taking over Gaza was obviously a non-starter, so it's not worth running around yelling at Jill Stein protest voters. (I mean, I fucking hate them, but I'm not going to get het up about it.)
The real bad thing is just that Trump is cuddly with Netanyahu and that alone is terrible for Palestinians.
People gave ninety billion lectures about how Tariffs Really Work, but it's clear that Trump just wants to use the threat of them as another bully stick.
Also obvious that Trump can't just executive order away rights specifically guaranteed by the Constitution, like citizenship for people born here.
Of course, I'm concerned about Musk gutting Federal Agencies and gaining access to data in the U.S. Treasury. I'm not ignoring any of it.
I just don't have the emotional wherewithal to be in a constant state of outrage. I'm still digging out of my own grief and depression, while simultaneously trying to keep Matilda afloat.
Right now my biggest concern is what's going to happen when some of these cases hit the Supreme Court. If they go all in on the Unitary Executive Theory, it's going to get much fuckier.
I do wish the Dems were a lot more Jasmine Crockett and a lot less Chuck Shumer's who's been slow to act and ineffectual. The whole Democratic party needs to roll off its gerontocracy and get down to knife fighting.
