I have never noticed the lack of lit exit signs and running lights before in my life.

I was distracted from the shit show of our government (and it's parasites) for a few hours by an emergency trip to the vet this morning. Gilda is home and resting now, but it turns out the sudden onset of vestibular disease is pretty disconcerting. She was upset because she didn't know why the world was spinning and I didn't know what was wrong or how to help her. Her eyes were jittering from side to side, poor old girl. She got some fluids and anti-nausea meds and her eyes settled down so now she just walks like she's drunk. Even so, she's highly offended that I piled stuff in all the high perches she likes to sit in. I tried to take away the ramp to the bed but she just jumped up anyway, so the ramp is back. I'll have to pill her once a day for a while (2 weeks maybe) so I hope the pill pockets are a welcome treat. This could either fade away on it's own or be a sign of something unwelcome in her brain. Given that she's nearly 20yrs old I decided not to go down the latter diagnostic path.

Well I tried calling my rep and Senators tonight, but on the 2nd call the sound on my phone was cutting out. Not sure if it was on my end or theirs. I left 2 long messages about Musks illegal bs, but when the connection was bad again on the third call I bailed. I urged them to not vote, not allow a quorum, to let anything else more forward until this is stopped. Plan to call every night moving forward.

This is all fucking insane and I’ve got precious few nails left to bite.

I chickened out and just sent resistbot texts today, but my rep is having a “phone town hall” on Wednesday, so I’ll probably do that

My salesperson that is just back from maternity leave (like, I think her first day back might have been Friday? Definitely last week) was asking me something over chat and then kind of paused and asked how I was which was nice because she was clearly genuinely asking but also, jeez how do I even answer that? I said something about flailing a bit because everything but basically okay

I had the same thing, and heard all of their phone systems were fucked. I did eventually get through to everyone. And apparently Warren and Markey both heard from enough people this morning, because by the end of the day I got fundraising emails from both of them about Musk.

I came home and immediately had to clean up the guinea pig cage and assorted other messes. Now I'm starting to hit the wall after my long flight. Time for a little nap.
