Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I had breakfast at A Happy Pancake.

Like the otter cafe it’s popular so you should get a reservation for it.

But I stumbled up to it ten minutes before it opened and got in.

I had an egg and cheese omelette and three of their specialty pancakes, which were nothing like any pancakes I’ve had before. Very light and airy with meringue but not like a Dutch baby.

Now I’m back at Teramachi (shopping arcade that intersects with Nishiki food market). This is where I played with otters yesterday.

There’s a record store here I want to check out then there’s a capsule toy machine I want to hit “Villain Yummy “ where the take the visual motif of a classic Disney villain and turn it into a dessert in tiny plastic form. Like the top of Maleficent’s head as a cake.

Now tagless for your comfort.

David, Japanese pancakes are a wonder all their own!

I hope you know how much joy your reporting from Japan is giving at a time when it is sorely needed.

brenda, THE GLOBE!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!! Inam also low-key crushing on said coworker.

I worked at the library today—which is joy. But I have a cold, which is not. Story time in a mask for the win!

I am demoralized by events. Are Fridays going to be trauma-inducing news dumps for the rest of this unholy administration????

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Iam also low-key crushing on said coworker.

I took a friend to a Cubs game 10 years ago and he happened to be next to us (company tix) and she *still* asks about him.

Boarded my flight and two rows behind me is the uber toxic owner of my last company. He seemed very discombobulated that i was here and in a better (further front anyway ) seat.

“You’re going to …London??? On this plane?”

He did name drop that he’s off consulting with Cambridge and Oxford.

I could honestly not be more delighted at this turn of events.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is hilarious, brenda!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I saw the Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theater circa 1993. They just had their last performance in NYC last night.
