Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm loving all the Japan trip details! I hope you both have an excellent time.

Hivemind: What does one wear meeting up with another mom on a Friday night? I can't even remember the last time I went out with a friend for something that wasn't coffee and wasn't a couples thing (but I'm pretty sure I was about half my current age and half my current size). I tend to either be underdressed or overdressed for everything.

Coding and Sleeping

Without knowing anything about the individual car, the 2013 Prius is known to be one of the most reliable cars you can get. Of course, with a 12 year old car, how well the car is maintained is a big factor as well. I think it is definitely worth a look. If there are things that don't work, the suspension feels sus when going over bumps, there are dents on the outside, and the interior looks beat to heck, then you know, probably a sign that the car hasn't been cared for. If it looks and drive like or nearly like new, then probably a sign it has. Pay a little bit to run the VIN number through a Carfax like service if the VIN history isn't provided to check for red flags like salvage title or big accident.

Our wings are not tired.

I sure wish Matilda had brought less.

Wishing you another lovely day! It sounds like the train ride was perfect. The trains were a complete delight for Brendon. I keep seeing over and over again on the various Japan travel sites warning not to overpack. It just adds stress. Of course, Matilda is staying for much longer and easier said than done.

They have a 2013 Prius for about the same amount as i am getting from the insurance. this got the brain weasels turning and now I'm wondering if that is the route to go.

My son drives a 2018 Prius and he loves it. I drove it from Florida to NY by myself and it handled well, and got great mileage.

What does one wear meeting up with another mom on a Friday night?

I do not qualify as a fashionista, but I would go with what makes you comfortable and feeling good about yourself. It isn't a specific plan for fancy or super casual.

Punishingly Intricate

My 2013 Prius is a bit beat up on the outside but that’s mostly my fault (run in with a column at my old work garage).

What are you and your friend doing, sj?

lisah, our 2013 Civic is the same... one is my fault one is DH's, and we just couldn't bring ourselves to care enough about aesthetics to deal with insurance. Now that those things don't rust... eh.

Thrive to spite them

Oh I know about Kaiseiki because it was featured on Top Chef (I think) and also because Shoto Nakajima did something Kakseiki style for another competition. I think..

Thrive to spite them

I'm worried about a lot. Especially my customers and my coworkers. not only do we have a lot of customers who are Hispanic but also Middle Eastern.

And of course we have lots of customers and I have coworkers who depend on WIc and SNAP and Section 8 housing and various programs that are federally funded and I have no idea what will happen.

And in other news Cheeto has bounced back from his illness. I think he has something else going on but he has been a lot more active and playful.
