I did eventually finish it (though it’s possible one or two squares are off) but it was probably around 25-30 minutes total.

If you scroll way down—I guess that’s to be “competitive”, which I wouldn’t expect to be:
All crosswords have been specially created and edited for the tournament.
Will I be able to compete? Are the puzzles too hard for me? These questions can be answered by actually solving a puzzle that was used in a previous Tournament. The tournament crosswords vary in difficulty. This sample puzzle is "medium." If you can complete it in 15 minutes, you would be competitive at the tournament. A time of under 10 minutes would be excellent.

In pencil, 15:05. Not competitive, but better than I expected.
I doubt I'm competetive, but I will try that! After DH and I do today's puzzle for real, heh.
Dang dcp, that’s impressive to me!!
Welp, I got a non-refundable hotel room and a changeable train ticket (in case I decide not to work all day Friday!) so I am IN. LFG!!
I can't figure out how to print anymore, stupid work changing things. But yay for virtual options, I will look into that!
I think you can always get the puzzles after the fact?
I should start practicing more on paper!
Yay, Jesse!
Yeah, I need to practice without DH and on paper.
I think I'll probably drive but maybe stay with my sister overnight in Yardley on Thursday; then it's only about two hours to Stamford. Ooh, and maybe on the way back I'll visit my friend in Pennington, NJ. Maximum peopling! I love the train, but it's so freaking expensive these days.
Timelies all!
Happy New Year!
Our NYE was fairly quiet, but fun. We ended up with 4 of our friends(2 couples) coming over. We decided to order in for dinner since we wouldn't be able to fit all of us in Gary's car, and visitor spaces were much in demand so there was no guarantee they'd be able to find a spot after we got back. After dinner(Chinese from a place we often order from) we played a game one of our friends backed in Kickstarter. It was called Modern Problems require Fantasy solutions and the gameplay style was like Cards Against Humanity. Lots of silliness.
