There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

The UK Ghosts are generally more annoying but they have their sweet moments.

Coding and Sleeping

Well, this was a cruddy Mothers' Day for me.
Ugh, sorry.

Sunday was pretty awful for me overall. Didn't have any plans because we were supposed to be traveling, but we came home early so we ended up home instead. I actually got my wife a bouquet for Mother's day Friday since I figured we wouldn't be home Sunday. I did manage to get the trailer out and get 8 bags of dirt and 38 bags of mulch and get it all spread out. Also hung some mini-blinds. Could have got more done, but I had a breakdown that wasted a couple of hours.

Thrive to spite them

I have skipped. I do know smonster got a job YAY!!

I did skip because the retirement talk was giving me anxiety .

I seem to be crawling out of the funk I've been in. At least some. I got a weekly vitamin D prescription I started last week. I'm changing from generic Vyvanse to generic Straterra...which has been..a thing. Not as bad as I thought but I keep having Ideas! And feeling impulsive and fighting to stay on track at work. And I cannot stop running my mouth.

E is coming for a long weekend this weekend. I'll be at Mom's Fri and Sat but I am going to make time for JZ's memorial.

Also made an appointment with a dermatologist tomorrow. So fingers crossed the weird spot on my face and the discoloration aren't cancer.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

smonster, yay for job!

Ugh, buffistas who are having a hard time, I'm sorry. Hope for better and easier days for you. Also medical~ma for those who need or want it.

I'm sorry for not updating for a while. I've had really great - and really busy - time until now, and I'm typing this from Seattle airport, soon to be on my way to SF. I'm so grateful and happy for everyone I got to meet so far of will meet. I also officially miss home (yes, despite everything), and looking forward to stop traveling after next week and stop having to repack the damn suitcases every two to three days.

I really needed the break from work and war and happy that I'm having this vacation. To get to grok some things from afar and with perspective was super needed as well. And I'm feeling so very lucky for knowing everyone I'm meeting or stayed with here. Thank you for that, so much.

Next stop: SF. See you there! I'll be working on the 15th and 16th and hanging out with Hec on the 14th, but let me know if you'd like to meet!

Our wings are not tired.

I should be packing. Our flight leaves at 6:20 in the morning. Still have to do a bunch of stuff. We'll settle in SF on Wednesday. We're spending Tuesday wandering in the Reno/Lake Tahoe region. I haven't been that way before, and DH wants to revisit.

Guess I will pack up the dog for his vacation and do more packing..... I really hope my housesitter likes salad because I have so much lettuce, cukes, tomatoes, and stuff that will go to waste.

I broke my pinkie toe (or, it seems and feels broken anyway) on... the dog last night! She is 100% fine.

Bringing her in from a walk, she somehow planted her tough, little, back paw in a way that ended up doing something to me as I walked past her, and caught it on her paw, and I'll be damned if MY own pinkie paw isn't black and blue and screaming every time I move it. It' been waking me up from time to time.

She is, of course, just fine, no limp or favoring of her other paw, sleeping like a baby (the kind who sleep through the night) and barely even took notice of my jam.

Broke my pinkie on a tiny, little dog paw. That's a new one.

A thousand thank-yous to the universe that I didn't fall or anything, though, TBH.

Ow, Jen! My arms are covered in fading bruises from my sister-in-law’s young lab greeting me enthusiastically with a big grin that exposed all her hard teeth.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Jen, that sounds miserable. Maybe buddy tape it to the next toe? I think that’s all you can do for a broken toe.

Gave notice yesterday, went super great. Bosses not surprised, happy for me, a little annoyed I didn’t use them for a reference.

I am taking today off because I need a total rest day. The trip was great but pretty busy and emotionally exhausting and I had a lot of trouble sleeping. I get to sleep today whenever I feel like it, and do whatever floats my boat. I hereby proclaim.
