We gotta go to the crappy town where I'm the hero!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

How's everyone doing so far?

"Thankfully" this is my first day back to work after over a week away, so I have distraction in the form of trying to comb through my Slack and email.

Our wings are not tired.

Busy day so far. Skinner started the day with digestive issues at 6AM. (yuck) Maybe anxiety from being home or traveling, more likely he ate something his very first visit to his favorite dog park. Dealt with that and took him to the park again, watching closely. Got home and marked up the sample ballots to take to the polls. (efficient) Cleaned up another round of Skinner deposits. (at least he does so right in front of the door) Drugged him. Went and voted!! (patriotism!) No wait with plenty of staff and machines. Steady stream of people. Early vote seems to have the crazy lines here while day of vote is smooth. Went out to eat breakfast at my favorite joint for such. (Egg n You) Went to the grocery store to buy requirements for tonight. (wine) No more messes from Skinner while we were out voting, dining, and shopping. (YAY!!) Put away the groceries and tossed some chicken/rice/pumpkin in the instant pot for Skinner to eat the next couple days. (yum)

Now putting my feet up while I summons the energy to go downstairs for a swim.

Punishingly Intricate

Watching polls in PA . In a very red precinct but lots of Dems too. Going smoothly so far.

Glad to hear it's going smoothly, lisah.

Glad you made it back safe and sound, Laura -- so great to see you both!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good to hear, lisah!

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

There is no gang of people, physical or virtual, that I would rather have around me as I wait for news that might be wonderful or might be catastrophic.

You folks have been, and continue to be, the most amazing group of Friends in the Lighted Box that I could ever ask for. I'm really quite fond of all of you.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Global All-Hands took three hours out of my day, and it was kind of refreshing to take a temporary break from feeling terrified about the election to relax into the familiar sense of feeling angry about 5-day RTO.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

it was kind of refreshing to take a temporary break from feeling terrified about the election to relax into the familiar sense of feeling angry about 5-day RTO.

That emotional roller coaster needs some ups to go with the downs.

Agreed, Karl!

Was it Agatha All Along that had someone saying "sad is better than angry"? Not sure I agree with that is why I mention it

Lunch update: I decided to go with Panera's buy a whole sandwich get a cup of soup for a dollar because that sounded like good comfort food, but I got back from picking it up just in time for my regularly scheduled daily 1PM zoom call and felt constrained to be on camera and not eat so now my hot sandwich is cold and my soup is lukewarm and comfort levels are not where I hoped.
