I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, Aurelia!

I’ve fallen back into Vox Machina in a big way. Are we discussing it anywhere? It’s the perfect “Let’s not think about the election” media, interspersed with the occasional GBBO.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Thanks for the birthday happies! It was a pretty chill day. I was able to work from home and get some laundry done. I went out to get sushi and a slice of cake.

I was walking on the sidewalk, minding my own business, when a guy behind me started telling me my hair smells good. He kept repeating it, trying to get my attention, and hustled to get right next to me to tell me. Dude. First, hair sniffing strangers is super creepy. Second, maybe learn to pick up on some body language. Ignoring you is not meant to encourage further interaction. Isn't being 56 supposed to put me in the invisible category when it comes to this sort of thing?

Then I came home and watched the latest ep of Agatha All Along which was excellent!

Wow that’s weird and creepy. Glad birthday was otherwise good.

Tonight’s music trivia round was identifying songs based on their theremin covers. We were mostly good.

Our wings are not tired.

Yeah, super creepy. Also, I will absolutely ask before I sniff your hair the next time we meet. It sounds like a nice chill day, with that icky exception.

Our wings are not tired.

I am sorry, amyparker. Sending much love.

FB keeps telling me that I became friends with dozens of you 16 years ago. They are mistaken.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm sorry amyparker.

Also, Terri Garr died today at 79 from MS.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry for your loss, amyparker.

Well I got a ride back with some friends, and got home not long after when I I would have if I flew. My replacement credit card was waiting for me.(I had disputed a charge, so they had canceled my old card and sent a new one last Wed. ) I was able to go online and request a new drivers license, and printed out a copy of my registration and a temporary license. My bank card arrived today.

What's left? The main thing is getting a new key for my car, which requires having the car at the dealer. My car is currently in a parking garage at BWI airport. I would need to get a tow from there. Gary was supposed to drop Mr. S at the PHP this morning then come back here. Unfortunately, Mr. S was in a Mood. At first he wouldn't go in, then he went in and became disregulated and physically aggressive, so they called 911. He and Gary are at an ER near the facility, and I have no idea when they'll be home.
