"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

and I really should wax the cars for that matter.

No you don't! That's not a priority. And why can't you just drop the car off at the shop to have the tires rotated? That's not that expensive, and it would give you a break.

Just because you can do it yourself, doesn't mean you should. Especially since your wife has never done even a small portion of the necessary housework while remaining brutally critical about your efforts.

Don't worry about waxing the car. Take it in to have somebody else rotate the tires. I bet you can fit that into your budget.

I just got three vaccines, I am not looking forward to tomorrow! But I was glad to be able to add on the Covid and flu ones to my appointment (the other was Hep B).

I did laundry already but I need to figure out what to pack. The weather is anywhere from 45 to 80 apparently? So I guess “layers”.

David I too have been slacking on the running. I’ve been doing other things (walking a lot, dancing, working out with a trainer once or twice a week) but need to get back on the treadmill. It’s just depressing how I was able to run 25 minutes straight at one point and now I’m pretty sure I can’t.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

And I encourage everybody to get up and move their body today, in whatever way they prefer.

Just rowed for 25 minutes.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

I finally closed my twitter account...speaking of things that there never seemed to be good time to do. I enjoyed it often, and I'll miss some of the interactions(aside from not wanting to be driven away from stuff) but it hasn't been the same for a while anyway. Wish that meant I'd have something great to do with the time, too(The next 2 weeks could be nuts, though)

Punishingly Intricate

I’ve literally never waxed a car in my life and I can’t say anything bad has happened as a result.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The plumber came, and was happy to show an interested Me everything he was doing, so I learned a little more about the furnace. Turned out that some of the internal fuses have gotten touchy. He's ordering replacements, but in the meantime, pushing them back in hard seems to have remedied the problem.

At least I know what to try if this happens again.

He also took a couple minutes to try to fix my kitchen cold water faucet that I have repeatedly tried to fix. I kind of felt more gratified than frustrated when he couldn't do it either. (IT WASN'T ME BEING TOO STUPID, IT WAS JUST TOO BROKEN) I may just have to bite the bullet and replace the entire faucet/tap assemblage, which isn't the most expensive thing to contemplate.

Yeah, after two weeks of not running (a) I felt tired in the legs going up the steps, which I haven't felt for a while; and (b) my lower back hurts.

So, yeah, it's good to be constant with the exercise. Just being regular makes a huge difference.

Just rowed for 25 minutes.

Fuck yeah!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I haven't done squat exercise-wise today, but I am getting food with vegetables instead of a cheeseburger. (I was at a movie. Dinner plans got shifted because of L's homework for music theory.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

No idea what to pack.
Everything.

It's my panic default should you get that level of desperate.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I promised myself I'd wait "at least" till the middle of October to turn on the little space heater in my bathroom. So yesterday I turned it on. Gotta tell you, there are rhapsodies to be sung about a not-icy toilet seat. There is a furnace vent in there but it's right beside the door so most of the heat goes into the next room. The space heater goes right back in the corner where the toilet is. It's worth the boost in the electric bill to strip for the shower without shivering my timbers. A beloved aunt and uncle had one bathroom in their house--well, at the end of an unheated porch, and the bathroom was also unheated. They raised a son and three daughters in that house. And lived there themselves until they died. I guess an indoor flush toilet was enough for them. Brrrr.

I've been slacking on my PT exercizes, which have helped my hip and back and general stamina immensely. I should get back to those. I *will* get back to those.
