Tim's doctor called in Paxlovid, so it's good he can start it so quickly.
My brother is disappointed that the J-name for the upcoming storm isn't Absolute Fucking Shitstorm Jeffrey.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Joyce is going just to be a nothing out to sea storm. We'll save Jeff for a real storm.
I hope you and Tim feel better soon, Steph.
Power~ma, askye.
We’ve lost power and had it restored twice today, so far. There’ve also been two tornado warnings, but they didn’t seem to touch down near me, so I just spent some quality time in the bathroom with the cats until the all-clear. (The bathroom is the only place in the apartment without windows.)
Stay safe and powered, peeps. Askye, I hope your power returns as fast as possible.
Short and mild case vibes for Tim. My friend here has it, too. Another two local friends just got over it. It's certainly out and about.
I have chicken orzo soup on the stove. White meat and stock from a roasted chicken, then some ginger, onion, corn, adobo, smoked paprika. A hodgepodge! Smells really good.
This will be a working weekend for me for some portion, so comfort soup seemed appropriate.
Making chicken soup does make for a lovely aroma.
I just put my 77-item order together to pick up on Monday in advance of SIL's visit on Tuesday. It will be a week of going back to my vegetarian ways to feed her family. It's been a while since I grocery-shopped for little kids! I think I did a good job. Lots of fruit and mini bagel pizzas and stuff. Also got smores fixings and metal sticks that extend to 45" to use in my backyard fire pit.
I'm going to repeat the pumpkin chili I made the other day because it was yum. Also have ingredients for a vegan meatloaf made with baby bellas and chick peas, sesame tofu and broccoli, corn & ricotta pasta, butternut squash curry, and other nice looking recipes.
Glad to hear that folks are weathering the storm.
Today has been a lot of reprogramming and testing systems remotely so that Six Flags Over Texas has haunted houses that are working better.
Last night I was at Dark Harbor until about 11pm working on finishing touches on that system.
I haven't been able to get in touch with Mom but she called Dad ..not sure why she didn't call me. ..she was ok. There is massive flooding in Brevard ..well all of Transylvania County , Henderson County etc. The high ground of Boone was under water. There are landslides....where we all lived when I first moved to NC on the mountain is completely cut off due to landslides and flooding.
Downtown Hendersonville, was under water.
We don't have power. They were still working on removing trees and downed power lines (and having issues with all the traffic out ). I am going into work tomorrow. I'll take my time but I don't expect there to be many working traffic lights. The only business open in town was the one gas station with a generator.
Oh I just went outside and we have street lights on main Street. That is good
Stay safe, askye

I didn't get around to making chili this week, so maybe I'll do that this weekend! I also want to make some pumpkin bread.
We have a few more days in the 80s. Then it should duck into something more fall like. I have the makings of beef barley soup for when it does.
