Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Our wings are not tired.

Clearly. Apparently, arrogance does the same.

The worst I've heard is the forgetting his cell phone password. Really, dude. You are not helping yourself.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

The excerpts of the indictment that people are posting are pretty funny.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Today is Matilda's 18th birthday!

Y'all have watched over her since she was still in utero, and now she's able to go drinking in Paris. Which is where she's headed in a few weeks.

But for today, she's getting her first tattoo, which is in tribute to Jacqueline.

It's an image of the Little Prince, which JZ read to her often growing up, but with a Blue Moon to acknowledge her passing since she left us on a Blue Moon.

Tonight we will all go out to dinner including a surprise appearance from her bestie, Iris, who is flying up from San Diego just to see her.

Happiest birthday wishes to Matilda!

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

That is really beautiful.

Both of my kids have decided recently that they want piercings (ears for A, eyebrow for D). I told them they had to think about it for two weeks.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, I love M's planned tattoo! And going to Paris! Although I don't think you have to be 18 to drink there...I am pretty sure I was 15 the one night I was in Paris and ordered a bottle of champagne mostly because they let me

When I was a teen, my family was friendly with another family whose kids were approximately the same age as us. One guy in that family wanted to pierce his ear, and his mom told him she wouldn't tell him not to but to be absolutely sure and to remember that he would probably look more and more like his father as he aged and how would his father look if he had an earring. He didn't do it.

I totally messed up having lunch. I went to Panera on Tuesday and got a sandwich and a whole salad, so the sandwich was lunch and dinner on Tuesday and half the salad was yesterday's lunch. Today I didn't feel like having the rest of the salad, but I kept doing work instead of deciding what I did feel like and arranging for that, so I ended up having the leftover salad after all and it was not super delicious and I'm still hungry and the whole experience has been unsatisfactory

Unsatisfactory, indeed.

I love the tattoo tribute. Beautiful.

I knew nothing of the impending indictment until I read msbelle and Scola's posts this morning. Then I skimmed an article, but now I just have more questions; I'm not sure I have the wherewithal to delve.

Much more enjoyable day off today. I read, did a couple of crosswords, cleaned fridge shelves (which was much more satisfying than it may sound) and dumped a couple of old food things, did a load of laundry, listened to podcasts while I did stuff, made hamburgers for lunch, well, cheeseburgers, walked the dog a lot (she seems fine and has held down both light meals from post-bteakfast), texted with some friends, took a nap, culled three reusable grocery bags of clothes for donation (bags and clothes will go - double duty!), tidied the bathroom, sent ine work email to move a meeting i forgot to move from tomorrow to Monday, lit some candles, and now I'm going to do some online stuff and things. Productive AND enjoyable. Nice. DH gets back from his mother's tonight.
