Re: health food - reminder that cheese protects against death from any cause.
That said, I just this morning had a steak mcmuffin and an orange juice because I have it in my head that red meat + vitamin C = iron absorption even though I know that my personal iron issues are not fixable via diet or supplements. I do believe pretty strongly in placebos, though. In general.
Dear Product Managers, today is not the day to play Fuck Around and Find Out with me. Reeeaaaallly not.
You do take vitamin C with iron to help it absorb.
I had my usual spring visit with my family recently with all the birthday parties, softball games, dance recitals, and other assorted events. My dad is still healing from the car accident and my mom hurt her wrist again after getting dizzy spells while recovering from RSV, but everything was reasonably fine! I gently bullied them into letting me do things for them! Came back Sunday night, and then yesterday, tornado touch down! My family is fine, but there's been a ton of damage in the community.
I am le tired.
Oh, man, tornados, ugh. Glad otherwise reasonably fine!
It was a nerve-wracking few hours there! My brother's been sending a lot of pictures of the destruction.
Fiber is god.
True.
I miss the fiber-filled fruit bars at Trader Joe's. I've never found anything else that my body liked as well for adding easy to tolerate roughage.
Atropa, glad Dad let you know and my thoughts are with you both.
I eat a lot of cabbage! It lasts a long time in the fridge, you can eat it raw or braised or roasted or in soup, and it doesn't need to be washed like kale. Good stuff.
In other news, the new dog apparently spent 4 months in the shelter, and she is
extremely
anxious as a result. I cannot leave her alone for more than a few minutes or she starts wailing. This could be a problem.
