Thrive to spite them

Technically my first alarm should be my med reminder, but I keep turning it off or sleeping through it. And then my For Real Get Up Alarm should be when I just get up and take it but I haven't done that either. I need a dedicated alarm of Take Your Meds Seriously!

I also need to adjust my For Real Get Up Alarm because school starts ..Thursday...so there will be more traffic.

I realized I left a step off of M's Bandage Sandwich...it should be hemostat, non stick, gauze pad, gauze wrap, then tape. So I can see some seepage through (he also hasn't kept his foot up as much today but he's been more awake and I can't really blame him). It may have to be changed again.

Dinner has been made and eaten! We have leftovers from lunch, leftovers from dinner (maybe), leftovers cooked chicken. We just need some fresh veggies and we are good for some easy meals. I made a kind of dirty rice inspired dish and honestly I may make it the veggie and meat part and freeze it to take to work lunches and just pick up microwave rice packets to go with it. (so I don't have to cook rice again). grab that, a little side of cheese, and then some rice.

Honestly the combo if rice + protein + cheese and I'm happy. Yesterday I mixed a tuna packet with half a microwave rice packet, some salsa, and grated cheese and it was yummy.

Right now I'm watching the replay of the Women's Skateboard Park Prelim Heats. After the ParaOlympcis I'm dumping Peacock but I'm glad I have it to watch all this cool stuff- I've also watched Kayak Cross (need to catch up on it) Skateboarding, BMX Freestyle, and some swimming , Hammer Throw prelims (no announcers on that so that was odd) . The youngest Olympic athlete is a skateboarder-- Zheng Haohao of China-she's 11!! Although there seems to be that weird age gap where the female athletes are much younger than their male counterparts, not sure why.

We refer to this as "stuff in a bowl" and it's awesome.

Tonight's dinner is going to be a giant salad with chicken or seafood, because it is fucking HOT.

I was craving the burger and fries at a local haunt, so that's where we went for din-din.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Rice + drained can of tuna + a little lime juice = yum. I also like rice + cheese, no additional protein. Dad has always been big on making a big pot of rice (or other grain, but often rice) and whatever proteins are lying around and any veggies that have to be used up. Perhaps the dominant form of the many dishes he refers to as "poverty food"

I had Popeyes for lunch because I was resenting the annual "Health Fair" at work. Included red beans and rice, now that I think about it. Because it's practically Monday

We've had the tuna packets on sale for $1 so I bought a bunch. I bought some microwave rice packets on clearance when we were getting rid of them so I am taking what I have left of those to keep in my locker. Then I just have to grab some cheese and salsa in the morning to have something. Until my rice packets run out.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Check Engine light in the work car is indeed the Camshaft sensor going off -- but it might only be the sensor itself that needs replaced. Reliable garage is checking it out.

I had a longish ride and a wait, so I left the van parked and walked to a hardware store. It turns out that they didn't have any smoke alarms that weren't either hard-wired or with a 10-year lithium battery, and they ran about $35!!! I know it's been a while since I bought one (more than ten years, for sure) but geeze, that's expensive.

Rice and cheese = good. Rice and cheese with a couple of eggs cooked over-hard = good. Rice and cheese with shredded rotisserie chicken = good. Basically, rice and cheese can do no wrong.

It’s true.

Car~ma, Theo! I have no sense at all what smoke alarms should cost. I’m like Lucille Bluth in this specific instance

Laura that’s interesting and good to hear, about your son! My friend I’m staying with for the week was skeptical this morning when she heard the pick, but after listening to his speech tonight was fired up for Walz. My sister went to the speech, since she lives in Philly! She said it was great.

I went to speed dating tonight. It was really a bust, but I mostly went to support my friend. Wouldn’t have hated if there were cute girls though! Sadly, only one really, and not enough connection there to try to stay in touch or anything long distance. Friend didn’t have much luck either, so we stopped and got cookies on the way home to console ourselves.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Honestly the combo if rice + protein + cheese and I'm happy.

Academically this meal pattern is known as "core, fringe, legume" and is the most common meal pattern worldwide!
