Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

they coordinated a thing, and they shaped it well enough to get energy and momentum from that. Energy! From the Democrats!

Right? It's not what we have been taught to expect, but I am trying to let myself enjoy it unreservedly

Same here. I am feeling hope, and I'm trying to just feel it and not revert to steeling myself, as I have been doing for the last decade.

Our wings are not tired.

I’ve seen this quote going around: “J.D. Vance is the Dan Quayle of Sarah Palins.”

That quote just delights me so much.

I still can't quite believe that the Dems managed to do this. It shouldn't have been a high bar of difficulty, but they've been tripping over that shit for years. But they coordinated a thing, and they shaped it well enough to get energy and momentum from that. Energy! From the Democrats!

Savoring this moment.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm just going to sit here and cry for a minute.
Yeah, same. Wow.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That is really tremendous news. Basically, HIV has been around my entire adult life as a threat. (65 here now.)

Now, why exactly don't we have vaccines for gonorrhea and syphilis?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

he he ... came across a post with this title (not going to link to it):

House Republican leadership engages in doomed effort to make members express marginally less racism about Kamala Harris

It finishes up with:

After that, they can work on turning the tides of the Pacific Ocean.

Thrive to spite them

I had to go search that out because that is good writing. Ive been reading Salon more because I find their takes on Trump and the GOP amusing.

I am so tired of rain. I can't remember the last day it didn't rain. The 10 day forecast is rain at various amounts. I think there is one day with less than 10% chance of rain. The store is muggy . The backroom feels like South Florida, the humidity not the heat it's actually not that hot just swampy.

I wish I could send the rain to some plac that needs it

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

There's a great NYT article about it, which reads like a West Wing script: [link]

Also, how Nancy Pelosi organized the push for Biden to pull out of the race: [link]

There's some feeling that Nancy regretted letting Diane Feinstein stay on so long, and also not getting in RBG's ear about retiring during the Obama adminsitration. Pelosi may not be the Speaker but she's clearly the most powerful Democrat in the country after the President.
