Mostly I'm just very very angry and ready to argue with idiots on the Internet. Grrrrr.
Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

This is exactly why the Capybara Intervention was invented for. Whenever I see friends trying to reason with stupidity/bad faith folks for too long in a way that harms them and their environment, I politely ask them to post a cute picture of an animal to cleanse the timeline.
Also, hiiiii. Sorry for the radio silence. It takes so much time and energy to fight the bad faith actors here, that I absolutely neglected this wonderful space. My bad. So belated happy birthdays, various~mas and ooof, I'm sorry for all of you. I miss you and hope that you take good care of yourselves.
And yeah, the time to double down on community building/maintaining efforts is now. It takes so much more time and effort just to keep whatever little you have once you've entered the stupid-less-democratic-timeline.
Shir, so good to see you. Have been thinking about you.
Doggo has another UTI, we're 99% sure. Took her in for a culture yesterday. Asked to start her on antibios today instead of waiting for results, poor noodle. We'll see. It's her third since September. Apparently more susceptible because of Cushing's.
Well, it looks like our robot overlords are upon us (having defeated a feline overlord)
For those not on FB - Dylan got his driver's license yesterday and just now drove himself to school to take his senior photos. He needed a little guidance backing out of the driveway (it's a weird shape and is actually quite tricky without a lot of practice) but turned safely onto Rt 9 and I haven't heard a loud crunching sound or gotten a panicky phone call so fingers crossed it seems all is well!
That's just one battle Toddson, the war is far from over.
Wow to Dylan driving!

I'm very angry and not at all ready to argue with anyone which is pretty frustrating. But that is how anger takes me a lot of the time, so it's a familiar sort of frustration. Capybaras sound like a good alternative at the moment.
Both Dylan and car returned undamaged AND he made bacon for lunchtime BLTs. I think this kid's a keeper.

Dylan is absolutely crushing Tuesday!
Hey, Shir!
I have the frustrum. Matilda needs a new laptop.
As you may recall, JZ got a new laptop right after she retired last July. But as soon as she logged into it, her work IT somehow (they could never figure out how/why) claimed her personal laptop as a UCSF machine. This was never resolved despite several visits back to UCSF IT.
Because of this UCSF issue, Jacqueline's computer was not allowed to get on the internet even though she was logged into our router. Thus rendering her shiny new computer fairly useless.
I've been loathe to do a factory reset on her computer because I wanted to make sure I had everything off it that I needed, but now I'm at that point.
Tried to do the Factory Reset and I get an error. The error is because.... the computer is not connected to the internet so it can't Factory Reset!
So I guess I'll haul it down to the Apple Bar and try to get them to do something.
It's a spanking new MacBook Air but it's just a shiny paperweight with cartoony Out Flag Means Death stickers on it right now.
If you shut off the Mac, and then press and hold down the power button, it will give you an option to reinstall Mac OS. (You might have to wipe the disk first).
