TL,DR: Death sucks.
Yes.
Mr. Man is driving again. If I'd known that driving would restore his will to live I'd have handed over the keys long ago (no I wouldn't--he was sick and weak, but he's strong enough now it's not a risk).
The to drive or not to drive question can be very complex.
Pix and Drew, I'm so sorry about J. That's very sad.
In random last minute decision making, I just made reservations to fly to Florida Saturday. My MIL's 80th birthday is Sunday (yes, she is closer to my age than DH), and my sister is having surgery on Tuesday and I just thought both would appreciate me being there. Brendon is over the moon. I think he might miss me.
Oh Pix and Drew that is so sad
My condolences, Pix and Drew. You really did go above and beyond for him, I don't think you should have any regrets for how you handled things on your end.
What are people doing this weekend?
My very exciting Saturday involves taking the car for its 5000-mile service, since (1) it's due, and (2) we leave for the beach in 2 weeks and want to make sure the car is in shape.
I got my car back from the collision repair place this morning, and I'm getting my oldest kid back from LA tonight! Babies returning home all day, woo!
Went to the gym with my sister and great nephew this morning. We have been going every morning at 9. Good to get into a routine there. I leave for FL this afternoon. Driving to my son's at 3, then he'll drive me to Albany. Flight at 7 via Atlanta, to get to Ft. Lauderdale at 1 AM. Then I'll get to see my mural in progress at home, MIL birthday tomorrow, then head to west coast of FL for my sister's surgery on Tuesday. This that and the other until I fly back Friday.
eta: RIP Dr. Ruth
