Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

It's actually been a really hard year, when you stop and do the math. Eliot would cry, too, if it didn't take him seventy minutes of therapy, two cocktails, and a Sondheim medley before he can experience a human emotion through the haze of his PTSD.

I just keep thinking about what tomorrow will bring. Well, and the next weeks, etc.

Right? Say there's a blue wave. Trump and his cult is not going to handle that well at all, and I don't want to deal with it.

Unrelated: I just finished my last bit of work before leaving for vacation on Friday morning. So tomorrow I just have various doctor's appointments, Thursday I pack, and then it's finally goddamn vacation!

But first I have to go vote. May Ramaswamy's defeat be crushing, and may he realize every time he looks in the mirror that his craven ambition was ruined because he decided to side with a pedophile [which one, right? I did actually mean his campaign ad, but then I remembered that he was part of DOGE and worked with the pedophile in the Oval Office] and then double down on it. Piece of shit.

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

I read an article when I was in school about how Sprite hit some rough times until somebody discovered it was Dr. Dre's favorite. I'm actually trying to find some optimism but it isn't easy cause the fact there is Trump II has almost destroyed my faith in my fellow Americans, let alone how polling works. I have also almost never seen "Elections have consequences" play out in a way that...sparks joy. Maybe I'm due.

Vacation, yay!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I can't believe that people report on political races based on what the fucking prediction markets are saying.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'd call those colors blue leaning toward periwinkle, and fuchsia.

I went and voted today, and got in and out with no issue and no lines. From what I could see, it looked like most of the people at my polling place were taking Democratic sample ballots from the people outside offering sample ballots. Then when I was backing out of my parking space, the guy handing out the Republican sample ballots started waving and shouting "Stop!" at me. So I slammed on the brakes, and it turned out that there was another car that was headed toward the rear of my car, but it was still like four car lengths away, so definitely not close enough to merit all that waving and shouting.

Now I should be grading, but I'm too anxious waiting for the results.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

OMG. Stop it, whoever is doing that. Go sit in a corner and think about what you've done.

I have completely lost whatever slight will to work I had today. I'm going to go pick up some delicious Arby's, maybe buy some gas, go home and finish watching The Vampire Lestat in between checking election results. I don't even know what I'm checking for, but I know I will need to check.

Very short line at the polls (like 2 minutes) when we showed up, but a longer line as we were leaving. Yay voters!

My hip burns like fire today. I think the only thing that will make it feel better is Amy Acton winning.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I went to the gym to meet a trainer who was scheduled to show me the right way to do upper body work. I’m at an age where concerns about my rotator cuff trump my innate “I’ll figure it out” impulses. Unfortunately, she called in sick at the last minute so I went ahead and figured it out. No pain beyond “hey, it’s been five years since you hit the gym” pain. Which I expected. Them I picked up the cat’s meds, voted (long lines), and treated myself to a fancy coffee. I’ve started Salty Pirates, so I did today’s task plus a buffer task.

On the whole, a day well spent.
