Riley: Oh, yeah. Sorry 'bout last time. Heard I missed out on some fun. Xander: Oh yeah, fun was had. Also frolic, merriment and near-death hijinks.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

May the OR staff be amazed at how smoothly the surgery goes, Sophia.

It's actually been a really hard year, when you stop and do the math. Eliot would cry, too, if it didn't take him seventy minutes of therapy, two cocktails, and a Sondheim medley before he can experience a human emotion through the haze of his PTSD.

Sophia, I am sending all my love and all my good medical outcome vibes to you. I hope everything goes extremely well.

Goodbye Sophia's ovaries! And take all the cancer with you!!

What Jess said! And because it can never be said enough: fuck cancer! #manifesto

We are going on vacation the second week of November,* so I am making my obsessive packing list. I realize, to my chagrin and amusement, that the section of the list comprising all the meds/vitamins/heating pads/ice packs is longer than the section of the list for my clothes. Because we are old and our bodies are crumbling and we need so much external assistance to continue existing.

*After Tim got the all-clear on his cancer in February, the plan was a vacation in the summer to celebrate. But then his lung collapsed in May and he used up all his PTO. But his PTO resets at the end of October, so we are by god getting a vacation in. And our trip to the beach is (as usual) with Tim’s brothers and sisters-in-law and one nephew, because even before I ever knew I’d need spine surgery, I knew my fucking hip was going to limit how much shenanigans I can engage in on vacation, so I figured if Tim's brothers and nephew came, he’d have other people to do shenanigans with.

Anyway, my point is that if they all decide to go do a walking tour of Charleston or drive 2 hours away to Savannah, I will be THRILLED to be left behind in a house on the beach with my books. I will literally be going to the seaside for my health! Fucking FINALLY.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Going to the seaside for your health! The dream!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Make sure you take the waters, Steph. For your health.
