"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We're all going to be made of replacement parts by 2030!

I went out to breakfast this morning and on the walk home I spotted a beautiful white husky. As I approached that corner, the person holding the leash said, "Oh, hey!"

It was Matilda's good friend, Vanessa. And in fact she was awaiting at that street corner to give Matilda a coffee on her way to work.

I waited with Vanessa until Matilda arrived a few minutes later and got bonus random child engagement!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Thanks everyone!

I now have surgery to remove my ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and whatever else they can get on Friday.

I feel great right now, which is odd. But even people visiting say I look better than I have since my mother died. I also don’t really understand why my aunt seems overly concerned with my mom’s house not having any comfortable chairs and my uncle seems to think I will be driving soon! I literally have no idea how long I will be in the hospital. I dont need to somehow purchase and have a recliner delivered today! I am not going to be driving any time soon!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Wow, Sophia. That's just so much happening. Fingers crossed for the surgery.

Kind of a liquidation sale on your unwanted fertility.

I feel great right now, which is odd.

It may be odd but I'm glad that's where you are. I've been worried about you.

Punishingly Intricate

Glad they have the surgery scheduled, Sophia! And glad you’re feeling great right now! I’ll be thinking of you.

Our wings are not tired.

Thank you for the update, Sophia. You have been on my mind. Be rid of those unneeded parts!

Surgery ~ma headed out to you and lisah.

I've pretty much decided to go ahead and replace my right knee, and maybe my left hip. The pain is bearable, but my walking max is at most a half mile, and that really impedes my lifestyle. I wasn't able to walk even one of the awesome nature trails here in the Adirondacks this summer, and when I get home beach walks won't happen. I figure better to swap out parts at 72 than 82.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh Sophia, that's an awful lot. I'm glad they're jumping right on it.

You can tell your aunt you're pretty sure can rent an appropriate chair when you go home to convalesce along with whatever other supplies you might be needing (hospital bed?). They would deliver it and set it up and then take it away when you're done.

Hang in there.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I’m glad you’re feeling good, Sophia! I hope the surgery goes well and recovery is easy and you feel great all the time! Yeesh for your relatives. I’m sure they are trying to help but yeesh.

Woohoo new knee, lisah!

Yay unexpected M meetup!

Mom has had her last in home PT session - she has exercises to do to limber up her hand but she’ll be discharged on Monday. She’ll have weekly sessions at, I think, a clinic for OT starting the following week. I’ve been at my own house since Tuesday but I’m going back to theirs tonight. Got up early to throw a bunch of stuff in a suitcase so I can basically just stay with them until I go to my HS reunion next weekend, we’ll see how that goes.
