Poor kid, poor you.
We've had a rough week at work, three of our long-timers
died -- residents who were there when I was hired, so I've had nearly 5 years to get to know them, given them plenty of rides, knew what their particular treats were.
One thing the long-time staff here points out is that it used to be that we got long-timers as residents, but with changes in health care options, we're seeing sicker residents who don't last as long, a higher stage of Parkinson's or heart failure or whatever.
Anyway, back to the grind on Monday. We have a sweet batch of residents and staff I'm proud to work with.
Sheryl, my heart aches for you, Gary, and Mr. S. Also, your home should give you a break!

I'm sorry for the losses this week. It is still very hard even at this type of residence where you expect losses.
Timelies all!
Mr. S has been checked in to the pediatric behavioral unit of the hospital he ended up at last night. Don't know how long he'll be there...
I'm sorry, Sheryl. I hope they are helpful.
Wow, has it really been silent in here since yesterday afternoon?
Gone are the days when we would be posting constantly all day. I kinda miss those days :)
Yeah. I’ve been a bit bewildered with the unexpectedly good news coming out of the French and UK elections. It makes me think of that one panel from Hyperbole and a Half: Maybe everything’s not hopeless bullshit.
Not to mention posting all night (remember the online mud/Jell-o wrestling?)
The French whiplash was particularly hopeful. I don't know what can be done to drive sufficient turnout to keep the presidency and House and Senate to get anything done. There are so many that either don't care enough to vote, or feel hopeless and don't bother. The consequences of the misogynist, felon, bigot, and narcissist being in control are too frightening and depressing to consider. I want to go into rage mode when I hear 'both sides are the same' from young people. To keep positive thoughts for Florida we have both marijuana and abortion on the statewide ballot this year, so that may drive more people to the polls.
Yesterday was quiet! I was off computer most of the day, and will be today too. Two reasons, a rash on my bum that makes me want to not sit around, and lots of projects to attend to.
Today is sarameg's birthday, but I haven't seen her around these parts for a while. I do hope she is having a wonderful day.
Happy Birthday, sarameg! (Just in case...)
I have two more days of work, them I'm going to a weekend event and working a table with a non-profit I supoort/work very part-time for, run by a dear friend. It's going to be at a NASCAR race in the Poconos. Not my usual crowd, so it'll be interesting.
Not as hot as it's been, which is nice, and one of the ladies who's coming is bringing a big-ass canopy/tent thing, so... shady, at least. Wish me... something.
ETA: It's not the crowd I'm even so much wondering about. My friend, bless, is as kind as can be and also conservative (not a Trumpist) as are a majority of her volunteers (no idea). I just wish for literally zero political talk, because I just cannot.
