I just spent the last hour chatting with Claude about how to rejigger my finances.
I came away with a list of questions to ask my financial advisor and my accountant.
For all the concern about data centers and AI slop and rogue agents, this part is really useful because I didn't know what questions I needed to ask.
Newsflash: tax implications and financial decisions are very contingent on a wide array of variables and timing and definitions.

Ugh. So the timer switch thing on my water heater/radiant heat thing broke and was just 24/7 heating my house (unnecessary right now!). Had a guy coming out for maintenance of it, anyway, so he looked at it and he said they’d call with the part info and schedule a repair guy. They didn’t call the past two days so today I called them and they said sure, you have to pay for the part ahead of time and then they’ll schedule, it’ll take a week to get the part..$330.
Yall I can buy a newer stronger version of this part at Home Depot for $33 and have it tonight. I can buy a used old version of this part (because my system is 20 years old) on eBay for $35. What the actual fuck. I asked her to have the parts department call me and explain. Because seriously??? I understand a markup but a TEN TIMES markup???
(Replacing it does require some re-wiring so I am not capable of handling it)

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.
That does seem a bit excessive in the way of materials markup.
