Happy Birthday, sj! My dad lived in Mystic for 20+ years! It's a great town. (Yes, someone mentioned a place I love and summoned me.)
Karl, so sorry to hear it's been so hard. I'm very glad you have people to help you get back on your feet.
Happy Anniversary, Beverly!
Health-ma to Tep and Tim.
Y’all I have to share this somewhere because I am still blushing over it even as I dismiss it. Was with a friend this weekend at pride and we were eyeing the folks around, and I don’t remember what I said but something about not being sure if people would be into me or whatever and she looked at me and said “have you seen you??” And I’m still blushing. Don’t quite believe her but nobody has ever said that to me before (though I think I’ve said it to one friend of mine!)
Not to make you blush more, but I just saw you recently, and she was speaking truth. Believe it.
Timelies, all!
Dylan and I are on vacation 7/5-7/14 mostly in Napa and Sonoma with Dylan's high school best friend and his wife, who are in the area because their high school senior daughter is doing some kind of summer thing at Berkeley for a couple weeks. We'll be on our own in San Francisco 7/12-7/14 and would love advice on places to visit and eat that are maybe off the beaten path, and we'd also love to meet up for a meal with anyone who'll be around.
Meara, you are absolutely gorgeous. She was speaking truth.
We had lunch at Mystic Pizza today. We’re headed to the aquarium in the morning. ltc cannot wait. She’s so excited. We went to a horror themed bookstore today with only a few minutes to spend there before our dinner reservations. It was amazing, and we plan on returning before we head home. I posted a couple of pics on fb.
There is a flashing green light in my hotel room and someone is on the phone in the hallway. I am the only one who isn’t sleeping because of this.
Oh people in hotel hallways (or slamming their doors) are so annoying. Hope you eventually got some sleep!!
I have a maybe date on Saturday? I don’t know what to wear on a hiking maybe-date! Or what to bring? Aaaaah.
Bring water. (/not helpful)
Happy belated, Sj.
Sorry to have missed a Karl sighting...hate that.(although it's not that we don't speak, I'm just...demanding.)
Meara, good luck with your date.
This last few days? Kind of miserable.
Timelies all!
Happy 4th to US Buffistas!
My senior prom was at the Mystic Aquarium.
Sunday Gary went to the neighborhood pool with Mr.S. At some point Mr. S had a major meltdown and assaulted one of the neighborhood kids.(One he had been friends with, to boot). He's been banned from the pool for the rest of the summer. sigh...
My neighborhood's July 4th parade was awesome as usual. I'm assuming we were the only neighborhood in Cincinnati whose parade had high school marching bands, 2 separate floats with drag queens, a horseback therapy group (on horseback), a roller derby team, a street roller hockey team, politicians, 2 separate pro-Palestine groups, a Jewish Voice for Peace group, the library, the art museum, a random woman with a sign saying "FUCK SCOTUS," Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Water Works, pro-LGBTQ churches, the animal shelter, an anti-gerrymandering group, antique cars, the Teamsters for the Amazon hub at the airport, and a random dude on a riding mower. We have a little bit of everything. Except Republicans and other assorted bigotry, I guess. There was even a Kennedy for President group. Tim wouldn't let me yell "Tell us about the brain worm!"
