Occasionally I've mentioned the drag shows that my friend Jes puts on monthly at Booksmith.
In case you were wondering what that might look like here's Jes herself with her Dolly tribute at the last show: [link]
She always makes every costume from scratch every month, and she spent a lot of time on those ribbon braids.
Taking care of elderly parents is a lot, but it's easier if they let you. I'm forever grateful to my stepdad for the incredibly loving care he provided for my mom. Brendon's mother is very difficult to take care of, as a huge understatement. I don't think any of us will be able to take care of her, only because she makes it impossible. Unfortunately, that will mean she ends up in some variety of care facility at some point.
Does your mother perhaps suffer from vertigo, askye? My sister can't bend over due to vertigo issues she has had for years. Her balance is awful. She does a bunch of PT exercises and works on it, but it remains a big challenge.
