We had my mother-in-law’s laundry facilities up to the main floor from the basement so she could continue living in her home and not need to go to the basement. So, that’s something you might keep in mind as an option, Calli.

One of my mom's must-haves when they were house-hunting for the house they now live in was indoor laundry, which was hard to find! Mostly it's out in the garage or completely outside, apparently (mine is in the garage). I'm not sure wood-burning fireplaces are even allowed here these days. Not in new builds, I'm pretty sure. I had to get my pre-op physical today, which was fine, until they told me they can’t do the bloodwork because the spine center ordered weird tests, but I could go over to the [Hospital-affiliated] medical office building (not the actual hospital) for it. Delightful. So I do, all the rooms are labeled wrong and I ended up at an OB/GYN office. But I found the lab and they said, oh no, you need to go to the main hospital lab. Sure. So I go to the actual hospital, go to the lab, and they tell me I need to go to Registration, even though my orders are already in the computer system. So I go to Registration, they tell me “Oh, you’re in the system.” I tell them I know that. Eventually I get to go back to the same lab, and I have to …
… wait for it …
… FUCKING REGISTER THERE. And they tell me, “You’re already in the system.”
“That’s unexpected,” I said.
I should be allowed to do at least one (1) crime after I leave here.
