*My little brother is fucking 50 today. Nothing makes me feel older. My own age doesn't actually make me feel as old as my baby brother turning half a century. Jesus.

If anyone deserves to be on a billboard, it's Tim. His recovery from that surgery—and the massive amount of curvature/structural correction the surgeons were able to do—was rock star caliber.

When my brother turned 70 a year ago all 4 of us were in our 70s. We all remembered our mom's horror when all 4 of her kids were in our 60s. We shall see if the 3 remaining are all in our 80s together. I'm the youngest now.
Also, being buzzed and watching Roswell seems like an excellent plan to me.

I was talking to my mom earlier, and she's mortified that both of her kids are in their 50s. (Actually, I think she's amazed my brother made it to 50, because for quite a while it seemed like he was going to flame out early thanks to lots of booze and drugs. But he's turned it around pretty well.)

At my in-office book club today, the question came up of what was everyone's formative tv/movie (the main character quotes The Big Lebowski constantly). The book club lead immediately turns to me and says "Jess you go first, explain what your formative media is and why is it Buffy"
