I am so glad to not live somewhere hot and queasy (at least, rarely) anymore. Pride this weekend was very pleasant (except late Saturday night when we were trying to be outdoors but it was raining).
I already know what I'm gonna call her. Got a name all picked out...

Yikes, the car fixing does not sound fun at all.
I love the longevity of gels, but my nails wind up absolutely destroyed when they come off.
My SIL started me last year on a product called Luminary [link] which is like a cross between gel and acrylic. Hard as concrete, but doesn't hurt the nails at all. She took it off before I went north since I didn't think I could find anyone here to maintain them, and my nails were perfect and healthy underneath. I lucked out and found one person who does them within an hour of me so I am getting them back tomorrow.

Punishingly Intricate
The thing that hurts the nails is soaking in acetone to get the gels off. My friend just opened her own nail place and she uses a man efile and my nails have been fantastic!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration
When I was a bank teller, which was, admittedly, decades ago, people who worked in the logging industry would regularly come in and get stacks of 2s. The idea was, I believe, that they would use them around town and then local business people would see the economic impact of logging by getting a bunch of 2s in their tills. No idea how all that played out, I wasn't there very long.
Unrelatedly, I am currently drenched in sweat and melting into my chair and the heat advisory isn't supposed to start until tomorrow.

It’s very smart to get a stack of those 2s because those teeth can sneak up in you. We have a variety of dollar coins we keep for just such an occasion after having to sneak to a bank while on vacation.

Up early this morning because I have a nail appointment an hour away. I'm grateful we put in the furnace last year as it is 51F right now! In past years I would have pulled on sweat pants and plugged in space heaters.

When I was at the bakery, we had a regular who loved to give us 2s. It was fun, some of the really young girls had never seen them. It was kind of a pain for the bank deposit, which I had to do.
