Thrive to spite them

My post got eaten.

Lisah I'm glad your EE trip was short.

I am at the ER . Scrappy bit me Friday night. I got on antibiotics yesterday. But today my hand was looking more swollen and the redness had spread. So I came to the ER. I've been seen. Im actually in a chair with a divider up between other chairs and this is the emergency "room".

They are waiting for my lab results but if they look ok they will give me my next dose of antibiotics. Draw around the redness and I'll follow up on Tuesday. Unless it gets worse.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh no, askye! I hope the antibiotics do their thing!

"Somewhere in this building is our talent." Toby Ziegler, my spirit animal

I just told someone that being too proud of their IQ score is like the long-form version of being proud about drawing the clock or naming the animals. Sometimes saying what really comes to mind feels great, especially with the added bonus of taking a swipe at ableism.(I hate that some on the blue team never get beyond "We're rubber and you're glue.") That said, I may not be as amused if I'm still taking heat a week from now. But I think it had to be said.ETA: I also feel like I need to make amends for my years as Little Miss Exceptional and bragging about mine, but I was a kid that mostly only my parents and me expected stuff from till somebody found it. Kind of like that singing frog in the cartoons, except it took a long time to realize that sometimes "ribbit," really is the smartest, kindest play. And, even a cursory glance at the history of testing can show they are designed to discriminate...no adults that are trying to be freedom fighters should use/need that as a flex. wow, askye...Rocky was a biter who took things out on my mom when he got mad. She used to soak wounds like that in epsom salts.(Grandma was big on frontier-type remedies.)

It seems like I needed to wait until the 3rd dose of antibiotics because I think some of the redness has decreased. I'll see in the morning.

I'm kind of frustrated at myself I went and wasted the money but it was getting worse and I didnt want to find out I had waited and cellulitis or something

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Jess, the turtle story made me mist up, but that probably doesn't surprise anyone here.

My household is re-watching Ted Lasso, and it's my first time through. I suddenly understand what you folks were saying about Ted (and Beard) going against the grain of toxic masculinity and machismo -- it's been a long time since I've seen a while male straight cis character on a TV show who I might actually want to invite into my home. They remind me of our own Hecubot in some very good ways.

Damnit, McConnell is alive but Sam Neill is dead? What the hell, morning headlines?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sam Neill has been in a whole lot of things I haven't seen and yet I feel vaguely warmly towards him just from ambient goodwill I guess

We are watching as well in advance of the new season. Some fine writing in there.

The memes on FB are sucking me in the past couple weeks. Blessings on those who take the time to produce these delightful tidbits.

Awww. [jumps up and taps "Believe" sign]

Back to my Monday morning Pilates after a two week break.

My whole Father's Day - Birthday - 4th stretch plus Pilates studio closed for break and my therapist on vacay to Greece blew up my schedule. But now I'm back to my routine.

I did do more than usual socializing, clean out my nerdhole, have several doctor appointments and see some aestheticians in the meantime though so I wasn't a complete lump.

Highly mindful that Matilda only has one more month at home before going back to college. We've been watching Hacks together and I'm watching House of Dragons on my own.

The lady at the bag drop counter told me to have a good flight and I responded "you too" fortunately I was already on my way out of the country.

There is a CPK in the SJO food court. I'm not craving American flavors but I am pretty nostalgic for the 90s so that might be my lunch.
