Congrats, Tom! I keep getting fed these "is a million $s enough to retire?" articles and I don't read them because I'm nowhere close to that. I'm guessing in NY it probably is not, even if we don't assume that the answer is not generally "no". . . Still seems like a nice milestone.

Today is a great day to celebrate P.M. Marc's birthday! I hope you are planning a delightful birthday weekend full of fun and treats. May this year bring all good things and skip the excess drama and trauma.
Happy birthday, P.M.

"safely home from the hospital" is good. "Probably scheduled" is less good. Make the effort to get clear communication and scheduling from the medical teams.
My uncle had a vascular dissection in a carotid artery back in the early '90s. It was severe, and affected him greatly, but he made significant recovery and is still with us thirty+ years later, so have hope.
My advice to you is to encourage you to to be diligent with all the follow-ups, especially any physical therapy. In my uncle's case, early effort did pay off later.
