Our wings are not tired

Anyone have Iceland recommendations or (just as important) dis-recommendations? Going in August for a few days.

We are going to be in Iceland in August.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Fair points, Jessica.

when set against the unapologetic joyous celebration of Black and trans culture that Jellicle Ball gives

Now I really want to see Jellicle Ball. I hope a touring version comes to the Detroit area.

I’ve had rotten shark. It reset my bar for the worst thing I’d ever put in my mouth (previously held by lutefisk). Meara, if you choose to try it for the experience, theres a schnapps called Black Death. I’d order a shot to go with the shark—it was the only thing I found that would get the taste of rotten shark out of my mouth.

Our wings are not tired.

I'd suggest going straight to the schnapps and skipping the shark.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Jealous of all y'all Iceland in August goers! I love Iceland and I love eclipses.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm mostly just pleased that S1 Supernatural Alum Alden Ehrenreich is now Tony Award Winning S1 Supernatural Alum Alden Ehrenreich. (Who was also great in Weapons.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The Iceland eclipse is happening the day after my 25th wedding anniversary but there was just no way to make the trip without completely fucking up the rest of our summer plans. I'm glad other folks are going to get to see it!!

Yes we are going for the eclipse! Crossing my fingers it isn’t cloudy, that would be a bummer. But thankfully I’ve already seen one eclipse so I’d be ok. No plans to have fermented shark or testicles or whatever. Bleh.

We have a cruise that we booked two years ago. I did a bunch of research and it's actually a good way to do eclipse since they can reposition the ship around weather much of the time.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, I saw that cruise advertised last year, or one of them! Somehow it totally dropped off my radar but I’m so excited for you all who are going.

Oh, yeah, cruise should be good! I've heard they can even stay within totality a little longer if conditions permit. Hopefully you will have clear skies, meara, although the very cloudy eclipse in the Faroes was still a very cool experience. I have no reason for thinking this, but I feel like August should be better weather than March.
