{{{dcp}}} yikes! None of that sounds fun
Happy Dana Day!
Know how sometimes you spend $600 on your dog before you've even had your coffee?
The vet just called. Good news is its just a injured dew claw and he'll be fine. I'll pick him and some meds up on the way home. My poor little boy.
dcp, what a night! I hope the rest of today is very chill for you.
Permanent crown on at emergency dentist, back home briefly, towels in laundry, bed made, meditated, about to run back out to regular dentist to fix the broken filling. Soon my teeth will be invincible.
Dental ~ma all around, people!
Hope your back pain has eased uo, dcp.
I hear you re: the doggo bills Trudy. Sitting in the vet's office right now for some routine Birdie maintenance. Then she has denta work coming up, which is very on trend around here, eh?
Also... Happy Dana Day!! Hope you are enjoying it.
Broken filling fixed, towels are in the dryer, time to work.
JenP! And -t! Are you on the Midnight Burger Patreon, and if so, did you hear the most recent Patreon episode on Sunday???
I did! Holy cow!
Some lovely heart-to-hearts and reuniong -- but the ending ! And also the hint that there's a bigger bad out there. Dun dun DUN . I need to give it a re-listen.
I am on the Patreon but I haven't listened to the latest yet - they are so long now and I don't want to break it into pieces because I know it's gonna be good but it's hard to find that much time
In better news:
The renewal process had some oddities. First off, the web sites for the two closest DMV offices wouldn't let me complete the reservation process. I could pick from several available appointment windows, but each one I tried to select failed to process. That was frustrating. So I tried the DMV in a town about 15 minutes away. They use a different online reservation system, and I got the appointment I wanted with no problem. Second, although I carefully collected all the various documents the web site said I would need (passport in lieu of birth certificate, social security card, two document supporting my residential address), at the desk all they asked for was my current driver's license and verbal assertion that I still lived at the address listed. It was almost disappointing. I felt like Jayne in the Firefly episode "Ariel" -- I did all this prep, and it didn't matter?
I got a mildly disapproving look when I declined the organ donor option. I explained that since I have metastatic cancer, I didn't think it was a good idea to donate any organs.
The picture turned out okay. The electronic signature (no stylus, so fingertip on tablet) is horrible. Oh, well.
I saw my ophthalmologist yesterday, and he was pleased with the progress made in reducing the CME in my retinas. My vision is not 20/20 yet, but it is close. I'll be tapering off the eyedrops over the next three weeks, then following up with my optometrist.
Now for some lunch, and then (probably) a nap.
