I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Thanks, everybody. It was a good birthday, and you folks have all made it even better.

See my tagline.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Hugs to all that need them, and happy belated birthday to Karl.

I'm back home and working at my desk after some... exciting times at the hospital. My heart ablation procedure and everything preceding it went well. However, when the time came for me to try walking to the restroom and providing a urine sample post-op after my sutures were loosened, the incision re-opened and I got the fun experience of feeling/watching blood gush down my leg and remembering that bit from Cellular where Kim Basinger tells a thug that the blood vessel she just slashed pumps 30 liters of blood/minute and there's only five in the human body. After that got dealt with, I had a long-running argument with nurses that they would NOT be catheterizing me and if everyone would just get out of the recovery bay and leave me alone for a few minutes instead of hovering around me, they'd get their damn urine specimen. Also, the helpful monitor informed us that when I'm stressed and angry my blood pressure can spike to 189/106 even when I'm a quart low and started blaring an alarm, which as you can imagine helped calm the situation down immensely.

Zero stars, would not recommend this experience.

Today I'm not feeling much pain and my head has cleared from the anesthesia, but my right thigh looks like something the makeup crew from a zombie movie might have created.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

the incision re-opened

Gaaaah! Double-plus ungood.

Glad it got dealt with. Don't do it again.

Our wings are not tired.

Yikes, Matt! I'm sorry this was such an awful experience for you. May the rest of your recovery be smooth.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh, that's the best damn part of all. What a nightmare.

Thanks again everyone. I went to work today because I am just in waiting mode until I pick up the death certificate tomorrow, but it was hard and I am tired! I saw my old boss Sue and when she hugged me it was the first time I cried. It makes sense because she was so much of a mentor to me professionally and personally and she is safe but it sucked to cry at work!

Structure can be good. Take it at least as easy on yourself as you would anyone else - you wouldn't fault anyone at all for crying at work under the same circumstances.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yikes, Matt! Damn.

Yay hummingbird!

Manhattan is gorgeous today, y’all.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Matt, glad the procedure went well, but yikes! on the incision reopening and going all Buckets f Blood on you!

Tim was discharged a little bit ago and is already napping in his recliner. He has drugs and follow-up appointments scheduled, but nothing until later next week, so things can chill the fuck out for a bit.

Oh, Matt. I'm glad it got dealt with, but wow, nobody needs that sort of stress and trauma in their life.

Much love and Buffista solidarity to you; I hope your recovery is swift and complete.

Also sending out some ~recovery-ma~ to Tim. Tep, I hope the next couple of weeks are much calmer for you.

Thanks gang! I successfully changed my wound dressing and took a shower this afternoon with no bleeding or pain, so I think I'm out of the woods. Now it's just a matter of keeping my 16 lb cat from jumping into my lap for a week and returning to normal human skin colors.

Here's hoping Tim has a nice rest and a smooth recovery with no unwelcome surprises!
