We've got two aircraft carriers parked on their front doorstep and it's not just saber rattling.
They intend for regime change.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard are some of the most evil motherfuckers going, and Iran would be better off without them.
That said, just as with Venezuela, this is not motivated by altruism, but greed. And colonialism still smells the same in the 21st century.
Iran has no real means to defend itself (except for missile attacks at nearby bases), and there won't be troops on the ground, except maybe some elite teams trying to take out leadership. This will be a bit targeted blitz that will take out Iran's power grid and military stockpiles.

This is like 8.9 out of 10 in my Do Not Want book, especially with my current government who cannot for the life of it take care of its citizens. For scale, 10 is for Zombie Apocalypse and Collapse of Modern Society and Infrastructure as We Know It.

This is my regular reminder to the board that I was born in 1985 and love hanging out with y'all. And every now and then I see 20 something years old people in the world and I'm not completely sure where they emerged from because I can also no longer remember how it was like when I was 20+.
