The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I hate that I have to use ChatGPT for work, but I'm amused that I've trained my instance of it to speak my language: "Or we could do option D: CHOOSE VIOLENCE".

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Happy birthday, Bev!

I am posting this from the adult only hottub at Great Wolf Lodge. Life is good.

Nice! I've looked at GWL before. Curious to hear what you think. I like what I'm hearing so far...

The chlorine and noise levels are intense but the room is big and comfortable and mostly it's indoors and warm here! Ask me on Saturday when the weekend day pass families arrive - we have a cabana reserved so at least there will be a place to hide from all the toddlers.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Uck, some combination of having plunged my bathtub drain clear and the unseasonably warm temperatures yesterday resulted in a flight of fungus/drain flies greeting me when I pulled my shower curtain open this morning. Not how I'd choose to start the day, though at least they're such weak fliers that I was able to get most of them with spray bleach.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Today is the last step to wrap up Tim’s cancer treatment—since the tests were all clear, he can get the port removed! Begone, port!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's great! Jacqueline never did get to have her port removed, or ring a bell.

I've got PIlates at noon and then I'm done for the week, though I have many onerous tasks this weekend including cleaning the Guinea Pig cage and doing taxes. Feh.

But at least I don't have a swarm of flies to contend with, just a sink full of Lutherans.

My friend Jes (the artist who's painting my back steps) works at Booksmith and she's also in a Drag Troupe (The House of Cream). So she's been producing drag shows at the bookstore once a month, and it was really fun last night.

I've gotten to know a young couple at Alembic, Rowan and Sebastian, and they always go to the shows, but Sebastian was delayed by work so I got to hang solo with Rowan for a bit which I loved as she's very smart and cool and funny. We're starting to bond!

After the show I walked her home (as she was a little tipsy) and it's just around the corner off Haight Street. She and Sebastian gave me the tour of their place where they've gone All In on Wm. Morris wallpaper and maximalist design.

Rowan is turning 30 this year, on 6/27 (JZ's birthday - and one day before mine) and invited me to the party. Then I realized that Emmett is turning 30 this year. And Jes is 32.

I'm hanging out with a lot of people half my age, is what I'm saying.

Our wings are not tired.

What -t said!

Good to see the SCOTUS do something right.

I'm taking MIL to SIL's house tonight for a couple days, and if the universe has any regard for me, perhaps for the next week until she can go home. I am grateful we have been able to help with her transition to home, but she is seriously high maintenance. Manipulative. If I criticize, she will cry and have a tantrum. It is exhausting. This morning, I "accidentally" left for the dog park without getting her coffee, and amazingly, in the 45 minutes I was gone, she got it herself. I've been trying to be less available, but it is a challenge. Of course, at SIL's, she has 11 and 5-year-old grandchildren who will be fetching things for her.

She keeps asking when she can go home or when she can drive. My answer remains the same: she has to do the physical therapy if she wants to be independent. We all know the day she gets home she will be planted in the recliner all day watching tv. We can only do so much.
