Robert Duvall has died.
He spent a good chunk of the last part of his life tango dancing.
I loved his performance in Lonesome Dove, and still drawl "Lorrie, darling..." under my breath from time to time.

Robert Duvall has died.
I was just thinking about his movie The Apostle yesterday. I didn't realize he was 95. That's a good run for anybody.
He was wonderful in "Tender Mercies".
Fare thee well, Robert Duvall.
I woke up this morning with all the clocks in my kitchen flashing the time, and my heat not working. So, power outage during the night, and I assumed that had done something to the furnace. I called the HVAC people, and they sent someone out. Turned out the power outage and the heat were unrelated -- the problem with the heat was just that the batteries in the wall controller unit thingy had died. So, $60 to have someone sent out to change the batteries. He did some kind of safety check of the system while he was here, and said that everything looked good, so I guess I got something out of it.
power outage
As I was leaving the cancer center today, I pushed the elevator call button -- and lights for the whole floor went out. Yikes!
I repressed the urge to shout, "I didn't do it!"
There was a loooooong ten second pause, and then power came back -- for three seconds.
Another long pause. Power flickered.
I decided that even if power came back on and seemed to stay on, I wasn't going to risk the elevator.
Fortunately I only had to climb five flights of stairs to get to the level where my car was parked, and I can still manage that.
Yikes! That seems like a bad place for the power to go wonky!
Happy Monday Tuesday.
I’m starting to loath coming to work and that’s no good. I need an attitude adjustment.
I managed to get the cats out of the crawlspace under my house and seal the entrance behind them yesterday, so hopefully that's an end to the neighborhood toms circling my house and serenading all through the day and night.
I also took Mom out to a mystery movie that turned out to be an advance screening of How to Make a Killing last night. It's apparently a remake of Kind Hearts and Coronets. It's enjoyable for much of the run time, but really fails to stick the landing.
Happy Fat Tuesday Paczki Year of the Horse!
