Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

PMM, is that “Wednesday” like today is Wednesday so these are Wednesday clothes or like Wednesday Addams?

Oh, it's the latter.

I may or may not have ordered a LOT of stuff when Killstar had that collab on clearance. And I may or may not have also added some stuff to a Hot Topic (or maybe it was Box Lunch or Her Universe, but they're all the same parent company) order I was making for someone else.

I work at home and don't go out much (most of my friends moved away or their lives got too busy to hang). I regained 10 - 15 lbs after slacking on diet and exercise when the rolling series of disasters started last year, and I refuse to rebuy my wardrobe just yet. I'm situationally out of cope (which, being situational, can't be medicated away, and I already have all the therapy tools, and also, I can't really afford to spend at least $200 a week on a therapist), which lowers my desire to do fuck all. Therefore, I am living the lounge clothes lifestyle again. I force myself to look human for Eucharist, but that's about it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I thought it probably was, but the day of the post being Wednesday made me less sure...I am all in favor of loungewear based wardrobes, especially pop culture centered loungewear!

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

We're all trying to keep up with you, Karl. The closest I come to the whole title thing? Is being in this class thing and realizing I'm not the newbie anymore(Even if I don't get to be Writer!Dr. Cox, either, which would sort of be my dream in lots of ways) but I've gotten used to thinking of myself as Green in All Things, and, while there's some big ones I'm still missing(and, well, a few of those people actually *are* young so it's not as though I've grown sophisticated, exactly) I could leave the wide-eyed rookie aside and not be lying. It'll be good to do that, at least once in a while. The path's been weird(Oh, God, has it ever!) but I've picked up a few things.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dag, my FB memories for the week of January 20th are historically filled with consequence and rollercoaster feelings.

Obviously, the whiplash from Trump Inaguruation to Biden Inauguration to Trump Inauguration is stomach lurching.

Jacqueline started chemo at this time in 2023, and we announced her diagnosis, and last year on this date Matilda and I were on a plane to Japan.

Ple, I'm very simpatico about your overhwelming year. I'm still feeling tumble tossed onto the shore after the shipwreck of 2023, still trying to get my bearings.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Plei, I may have also purchased more than a few Wednesday clothing items for myself.

Atropa, good luck with your new job.

My current favorite Spindrift flavor is their Cosnopolitan.

Nothing exciting to report here. ltc is at her graphic novel book club, and I’m hanging out on a completely different floor from her so that I don’t embarrass her by existing.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am unreasonably cranky about the proliferation of fancy Spindrift flavors because coffee shops/bodegas so rarely stock the plain lemon ones I like anymore! (Steak too juicy, lobster too buttery, diamond shoes too tight, etc etc.)

That is annoying, Jess. I also love the iced tea ones when I want caffeine, but I’m only finding the lemon iced tea and not the mango ones I prefer in stores lately.

ETA: Google is telling me that the mango was discontinued.

I've been experimenting with flavored sparkling water lately. I like certain flavors of Waterloo a lot (better than La Croix, which I had up at my sister's), but then I discovered that I really, really like the Lidl brand of orange and of grapefruit, so... less expensive and tastier. Win! I don't think I've tried Spindrift; I have no qualms about a little actual juice in there. Might have to give it a shot.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Nixie lime/ginger is my favorite of all the fizzy waters. It has a nice ginger bite, but also a good amount of lime. The ginger doesn't overwhem the lime, which happens with the Polar ginger lime mule flavor. I like a nice balance of ginger and lime.

For more excitement, I can talk about the best brand of prunes.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Those mini Sunsweets are dandy.
