one was shocked that someone of my advanced age wouldn’t want to be addressed as “Mrs. LastName.”
That's so funny! Of course, my mother was always annoyed when a doctor didn't call her Mrs. Prior at first... but, to be fair, she was born in 1928. I can count on one hand the times I've been called Mrs. Anything. But Matt often got called Mr. Prior when I was in the hospital.
Feeling better if tired today. Yesterday was all day in bed at what felt like 1.2 Earth standard gravity.
And, most importantly...
Happy Birthday, msbelle! Enjoy your day, and may the year ahead be a good one.
Excellent post number lisah! I’m a few decades older and I think the only time I get called Mrs Holt is from DH’s players, which is appropriate.
Medical staff should ask how you prefer to be addressed!
He's only 68, Trudy. And I re-listened to his message and maybe he was referring to my dad not answering his phone, which is still weird but more in line with uncle's usual weirdness.
Still weird, but not seeming altered is good!
I've just been amazed at how quickly a UTI mentally impairs an elderly person, and how quickly they can recover once treated.
A good reminder, I haven't actually seen that in action
In non-dementia news, my nervous little dog (who has mellowed considerably but can still flip at loud noises) was
utterly freaked out
by the
woosh-woosh
of the new corduroy pants I was wearing when I walked him this morning.
It took me a minute to figure it out. I'd take two steps, he'd freeze in terror. Calm down, two steps, terror... I had a good laugh once I figured it out. Cracking me up now.
A doctor once told me that the surgeon's code is: It can't hurt you if it's in the trash.
My mom used to hate it when therapists or doctors called her "Mom"
Yeah, I can't imagine I would like that
