Is this the time to mention that I am seated at the bar at Buddy Guy’s club, finishing up my Christmas cards while I wait for the man to come on?
Efficiently stretching the holiday vibe one more weekend!
I'm about to go roll over to Alembic where I'm meeting Emmett and his GF and feeding them French Onion Soup and Scotch Eggs and Winter Warmer cocktails.
Dang, the crossword puzzle tournament sold out super quick! I'm sad to say I won't be going after all. I had already more or less decided not to go after a surprise $3,000 water heater replacement (happy new year!) but still a bit surprised. Have fun, puzzlers!

Oh, boo!

DOUBLE boo. That's not the good kind of surprise. At all.
Impressive work there, David. Kudos to all, and enjoy the outing!
You, too, Brenda!
Fuck, I missed registering on time too. Maybe we can still get together if there's a critical mass of Buffistas in town?
There will be at least three! Which, when added to those of you who are close-ish... definitely a quorum, amirite?

And also, boo to this part.
Heck yes on the getting together. I’m planning to come in on Friday sometime during the day and leave Sunday afternoon or evening.
The bulk of the crossword thing is Saturday daytime and Sunday morning.
It’s moving to Philadelphia next year apparently, which I expect is related to the sellouts.
That is extremely cool, brenda! You’re only, like, a day late for Russian Xmas with the cards. Russian Boxing Day. That sounds like Rocky, um, I wanna say V?
I thought I could wait to talk to my mom in person this evening about whether she wanted to go to the tournament, but no. Might still make the trip. Too tired to think about it any more today….

So psyched for this, geographically, and, also, bigger venue where they won't have to divide up into several rooms. And more guest rooms!
Might still make the trip
