In lighter news - I am at the tail end of my leftovers, just the cranberry sauce (which I snagged the whole remaining tub of, as my mom decided that it being in the freezer since 2023 had sublimated [possibly not the right word but I can make a case for it] enough moisture out of it that another year would be Too Much and she was ready to toss it out). So I said to myself, if refried beans with lime is delicious (as it certainly is) why not refried beans with cranberry sauce? So that's lunch. It's pretty good. Would benefit, if I am honest, from a squeeze of lime. but not bad even without

This has been a bad year for parents of Buffistas.

I'm to the part where the anesthesia has worn off and my head is throbbing.

Also the sutures on my arm are gnarly enough to make Jacob Elordi weep in envy.

Also, no Pilates for two weeks.

At one point they left me unattended in the waiting room for two fucking hours. And yes I poked my head out before then and tried to corral somebody. (They were understaffed all morning and there was only one surgeon running from room to room. Turns out you don't want to be there the Monday after Thanksgiving.)

When they finally came back to take my blood pressure, I warned him he was going to be getting my Very Annoyed Blood Pressure reading.

unattended for two hours is shitty if they haven't warned you ahead of time it will be that long. you definitely start to wonder if they've forgotten you (and maybe they have!)

I need to make an appointment to get my skin looked at. Though I swear last time I think she took about one minute total to look. Which didn't fill me with confidence.

I did manage to watch Heated Rivalry tonight. Fun times. It's been a while since I read the series so I have no idea what will happen! Other than more hot gay hockey nonsense.

I also made it to Palm Springs, but my friends are not here yet, so it is me and my dog in a very big empty house. Boo. More people will arrive over the next few days, thankfully. And I am very glad to not be driving any longer, yikes. Dog is very glad of that too. Last night he thought I was trying to get him back in the car, from the hotel, and he planted himself and I had to drag him (I was not, I was trying to get him to go to the bathroom so I could go to bed!)

I didn't think I was going to sleep that well with my new stitches but it turns out lying down is good for the blood pressure and the throbbing pain. Slept fine.

Now I just need to ingest coffee.

Oh, I watched the first three episodes of Pluribus last night! I got sucked right into the premise and I thought it was smart writing for Carol's angry outbursts to have such huge consequences. The promos made it look more like a dark comedy and it's not a comedy.

Pluribus is fascinating. The most thinky show I'm watching right now, for sure

I was thinking I need to read Heated Rivalry before watching, but maybe I will just dive in and catch up on the books later
