Feasting with my parents, catered by Whole Foods and CSA delivery. Mom said she’d make the stuffing and sweet potatoes (we have tried WF versions and they are not as good as ours) ahead of time, so all I have to do is show up and help warm things up and probably set the table. We are skipping the turkey this year in favor of Root Vegetables en Croute. I’m thinking of bringing the vertical tasting of pinot noirs I’ve been sitting on for a couple of years, find out if my complete lack of climate control has utterly ruined them or not.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Sounds like a lot of good food in the works up in here. Excellent.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry, ND
As usual, we are going to Gary's mom's place for Thanksgiving. Mr. S will be with us, as we have arranged to pick him Thursday morning, and bring him back Sunday morning. We'll see how things go.
I got an email from my brother, forwarding information from a high school friend looking to get in touch with me. I'll send an email later.
I spent so many years with Thanksgiving being a single day off in the midst of tech that I didn't think about planning anything this year. (A Christmas Carol opens tonight!) I need to put together a menu for myself so I can go grocery shopping tomorrow.
What are peeps doing for Thanksgiving this week?
I'm doing my normal sitting in tech for A Christmas Carol in Costa Mesa this week. Pix will be busy getting ready for Thanksgiving and I'll be there on Thursday for us to spend it with friends.
I had a much-beloved friend in town from Boston yesterday, and we went out to Burma Love in SF (around 5th and Mission, downtown). I think that counts as a Thanksgiving dinner -- there was so much food, and it was so good: noodles with coconut curry, pork with mustard greens, tea leaf salad, and fried calamari. I haven't eaten that well in what feels like years.
And then we staggered down to Book Passage in the Ferry Building to listen to their girlfriend talk about Taylor Swift. It was a little surreal, but quite pleasant, all in all. I was exhausted by the end of it, though; I'm not used to being social these days.
For the holiday itself, I suspect the three of us in the household are going to go low-key: turkey and stuffing and maybe one other side dish, maybe a parade on the TV. I might call my favourite cousin, if I'm feeling up to it.
I'll be there on Thursday for us to spend it with friends.

Delightful!
Thursday with the in-laws, where we will all try very hard to not talk about politics or anything adjacent to politics or downwind from politics.
Check - no-politics-Thanksgiving vibes to Dana.
Well... probably everyone should get those, so I'll send out general no Turkey Day drama in all directions.
My family is blessedly undramatic. (Did I just jinx Thanksgiving for myself? Oops.)
ND, I'm sorry about your friend's passing.
I am hosting a teeny local Thanksgiving (between 5 and 8 total depending on last-minute rsvps). Instead of turkey I am pan-roasting duck breasts over a bed of wild mushrooms.
