My work nemesis keeps passive-aggressively cc'ing my boss in his snippy little emails to me. Little does he know he is also her work nemesis and she is on my side! Mwahaha!

I've often debated in my mind which is worse: the stress of running your own business or putting up with the bullshit and bureaucracy of working for someone else. I've not concluded, but at this point in my life, I won't be working for anyone else.
Well deserved evil laugh of righteousness, Jess!

I am sure you will all be relieved to hear that my lunch today is Four Bean Salad. Not bad. Actually assembled for last night's dinner although I did not dress it (which is to say, does it liberally with the red wine vinegar I keep in a desk drawer) until now, and it will probably make one more meal at least.
There are rumblings that a reorg may happen and my team would be moved from where we currently report into to an org that actually understands what we do. I have never prayed for a reorg, but please god, let these rumblings be true.
My ONLY (mild) concern about this possibility is my current boss asking me if I wasn't a manager, what would I want to do. I don't want to go back to being a writer, so I told her that if for some reason I was no longer a manager, I want a site publishing/architect role, which is something the tech writing team desperately needs.
I still want to manage my team, but if I have to give that up in order to get us out of our currently dysfunctional org, I'll do it.
What I really want is some sort of unknown distant relative to leave me a fortune in their will. And a manor house. And to make me a vampire, while I'm wishing for unattainable things.
Your standard wish, then
But good luck with the re-org meanwhile!

Same. Except the vampire part. Probably.
