Stubborn old coot step-dad drove himself 13 winding mountain miles to the health center because he was feeling poorly and they put his ass in an ambulance and are sending him 60 miles in the other direction. I mentioned that I live right next door and would take him to the doctor if he was feeling off. Anyway, some heart~ma his way would be good, along with some communication~ma.

Yikes Laura—my sister has had the same talk with my mom.
My dad is back in the hospital again (he had surgery last week, and they kept him extra because he didn't shake off the anasthesia well, apparently now he has an infection). This visit to them this week may be more timely than planned!

Sorry to hear that Fred.
msbelle, that sounds like it's going to be hair-raising in multiple ways. Good luck!
Who the hell shoots up a garlic festival!?!
I talked to Mom this morning, she's feeling better and the doctor told her the bacteria level is going down. The leg is still swollen as hell, so she's going to be there a while longer.
Who the hell shoots up a garlic festival!?!
Seriously!
Who the hell shoots up a garlic festival!?!
Somebody looking for a crowd of targets.
I'm so sorry, Fred.
Ugh I am all of a sudden getting a blocked message on my work phone for this site. Only sometimes though, it says "adult content" HA!
I am still one of the luddites paying a slightly lower monthly bill for a not unlimited data plan on my personal phone. There is no WiFi access at work except for company devices.
A Facebook friend of mine (married to a long-time Internet friend) was at the Gilroy festival yesterday, although at least his group had gone home before things went south.
I had flashbacks to the Boston Marathon bombing, because the garlic festival is one of those homegrown popular events that is part and parcel of local identity and culture.
Karl - thank you for checking in.
