My wife is researching SEO to try to boost her web traffic. Thing is, I think I lot of SEO is flim-flam. I mean, the whole business model of search engines depend on SEO not being effective.

Gud, please tell your wife that SEO is flim-flam. Relying on SEO to drive traffic is a doomed idea, because most content online is found through word-of-mouth, the occasional lucky strike of something of yours going viral, and a consistent and engaging presence across every social media platform.
Also, "SEO best practices" change fashion every few months, so there's no staying current with them, anyway.
Goodness, I'd forgotten how fast this place moves!
Health~ma to Cindy's son and all who need it! ((((msbelle)))) good luck with the move and Mac!
Spent a few hours yesterday with my sister-in-law yesterday while we went to retrieve my 3 youngest siblings and brother-in-law from the end of RAGBRAI. They are nuts.
SiL is very depressed about the news and is thinking about leaving Facebook because of it. I'm kind of losing my taste for it all myself. So, I've come here for refuge. Missed this place and all of you.
Hi quester!
I miss you too quester!
I just read a bunch, but a long time ago I decided that I too can pee anywhere. I wear skirts, so I am covered when squatting. I don't actually pee anywhere, but on a hike or something, or in a bathroom, as long as no one is really staring at me, I'm good. As a costume person, I am possibly more comfortable than normal with seeing naked people.
Cindy, I am glad your son is home. I used to do theatre with a woman who had these issues and she had had to go home and live in her 20s, but in her 30s she was much better, although she never ate before a show.
I really want a conversation about Pose, so I am cross posting from Facebook
I am watching Pose, which I like and recommend, although it has all the pitfalls of a Ryan Murphy product, in that the moments and the concept are great, but the glue is a little confusing and not well executed
However, I ran into a really job specific thing that made me stop watching the first time- you can't just steal historical costumes and wear them! They won't fit. They will fall apart. They will look terrible, because clothes from Elizabethan times are not in great condition! I wanted so hard to believe they were stealing reproductions, but it was pretty clear they weren't. Also, to treat historical clothing by throwing it in garbage bags seems terrible! But you can hardly use 50s and 60s clothing for costumes because of these reasons, and also because they were designed to be worn with specific undergarments.
We survived ltc's 4th Birthday party. Her birthday isn't for a couple weeks, but we will on vacation.
Hi quester! One of my friends just did RAGBRAI!
Today is much less eventful than yesterday's crazy float trip. Had book club (but there were only four of us and we talked about the book for all of 10 minutes, we didn't like it much), wanted to buy all the things at the farmer's market (but didn't, since I'm leaving on a trip Tuesday), and have to bake a friend a cake here in a few minutes (she just had surgery). Need to head to the store and buy the ingredients though!
I had to look up RAGBRAI - wow.
I, too, thinking spending more time here than the other places of social media might be the best for me. Of course I have just spend the last 4 hours scrolling through FB and twitter, so I am not so great with follow through.
Hi quester!
