Just got home from replacing my washing machine. It was an oldie, given to me by my SIL many years ago used then. Started smoking on the spin cycle. So we debated getting a new set, maybe stackables.
Then my Goggling saw a place called WeDaBest Appliances, and they had really good reviews. Stopped and saw my nephew who owns rental properties and he said that he had used them a few times and they were cool. Looked around and saw he had a Kenmore washer that perfectly matched the dryer I have that still works fine. Older, but they last forever. $150 cash, so with no 9.75% sales tax. Dude obviously knew his appliances and said he had tested it completely and warranted it and stuff. So pretty pleased! Now to do an actual load of wash....
the garage sale I though we were having in 2 weeks is now pushed back to the 24th. Still not too bad, but a little too far out for me to be making signs like I was thinking about starting. Still I am pulling things from the living room and kitchen.
msbelle, you are the hardest working woman in show business.
I get tired from just reading about what you've done/are doing/have to do.
I'm sorry about what you're going through with mac.
This too shall pass is also my mantra.
Timelies all!
Mr. S got up far too early considering when he went to bed, and has been acting badly all day. Sigh...
I had a really great day going to the beach with my mother. We were at the beach with basically all of the different kinds of people and they were all also having a great day! It was delightful.
Is replacing a shower faucet something a non-handy but willing to try person can do herself? Mine is starting to stick.
In other news, here's a really obscure namedrop: I was just listening to an interview with documentary filmmaker Erin Lee Carr, and I realized I met her when she was a kid! My friend used to work with her father (David Carr) and they were all at a party she threw.
I'm waiting to board my plane to Dublin. I haven't made any touristy plans for while I'm there. Maybe I will hang out in St Stephen's Green tomorrow afternoon.

I was going to confidently say "yes" but I was actually thinking of replacing the shower head. Handles I haven't done. But it's something I would try, so I think you can probably do it.

I wouldn't. But then, I'm not sure where the water shutoff valve is, so that's probably a big part of my reluctance.
Ooh, good call. Maybe I can get my neighbor to consult -- he might know where that is since our houses are mirror images.
