That really sucks, Cindy. Poor kid.
I am kicking myself because I am on vacation until Monday and when unpacking my stuff this morning discovered I put all my medication in the appropriate little day-by-day boxes of my pill case...and seem to have left it sitting in my bathroom, because it is not in my bag. Oh dear. So, this will be an interesting withdrawal. Oops.
Oh no, meara! Hope its not too bad
Oof, good luck, meara!
I am sorry, but "favorite flower" is not a fun fact for most people!
Also I was raised to fear sunflowers (my parents think/thought the giant ones are scary and possibly space aliens), but actually feel neutral about them.
Not good, meara. Is there a way to get a couple days worth from a local pharmacy?
I'm not sure—sadly my pharmacy is a Washington-local one, so it would be extra complicated. I'm inclined to just deal with any potential withdrawal effects. Especially because I just refilled my prescription so I expect I'd have to pay cash and it's hella expensive cash. And last time I was at the pharmacy and the prescription had run out they said they couldn't give me any emergency ones to carry over (luckily I got a refill promptly and had a few days left)

Oh, Cindy, that's so hard. Wishing him some pain-ease and wellness.
Jeez, I was so stressed even with just Matilda's dental issues when she was young. Torturous!
Timelies all!
Had a normal length work day today. It's the only one I'll have until August 5.
It's hucking fot again here.
Thanks everyone.
Update. He needs surgery. He can't have it right now. First they have to get rid of the infection, then they have to let his intestines chill for a while. So it will probably be in six to eight weeks if he keeps progressing as is.
They have to remove the diseased section of the colon where the fistula is, and they have to removed the sections of his small intestine which have strictures.
His disease is far more advanced than we thought (and we knew it was quite advanced) *somewhat squeamish white font*
the small intestine has fecalized, which basically means it's so inflamed that only liquid passes through as it should and any solids hang around in the small intestine and turn to feces.
I don't think he will be able to return to school in the fall. He's worried he'll lose his scholarship (we already got them to pause it once). He was supposed to have this great fellowship that he'll have to give up too, but although he was trying to think of ways to put off the surgery until Christmas break, but he could develop more of these abscesses in the mean time, and then have to withdraw, which would sink him anyhow.
It has hit him really hard. We just keep telling him he'll get to do it, the path is just less straight ahead than he'd hoped.
