Lot's of healing wishes for your son, Cindy.
Yay for J.
My Prime Days purchase of the robotic vacuum has delighted me big time. It is going round and round doing its thing! Went in and out and around the six chairs at the kitchen table. I keep watching! Whee! Dog isn't thrilled, but just keeps his distance.
How are Roombas on carpet?
Fingers crossed all goes smoothly for your son, Cindy.
Glad to hear J is doing well. sj!
I got a surprise half day off thanks to utility work that had the power off at our office this morning, and actually got some productive sweeping and cleaning of the cat sofa done. Which appears to have used up all my motivation for the day. Why does it feel so much more onerous to drive in to work for 5 hours than it would for 9?
Note to self: if the need to schedule a half vacation day ever arises, make sure the work half comes first.
How are Roombas on carpet?
It has little brushes that agitate the carpet. It has a seriously big task here, so we'll see how it goes!
IV antibiotics are tough stuff. Good vibes, Cindy.
It's a good thing I'm not currently having a migraine and trying to get something from my doctor's office, as I still don't have my prescription.
Jessica, I don't think we actually disagree, especially about how much GOTV and registration work lies ahead.
Also convince people that third-party candidates are not going to solve the problem, so voting for them - or not voting at all - as a protest is not something they should do. Honestly, if this were the Democratic candidate, I think I'd vote for him.
I haven't really mentioned it anywhere yet, but: I got a job! I start on Aug. 5th.
ION, the Throwback Thursday photos I posted on FB make me want to go back, shake my younger self, tell her that she deserves to be treated better by guys she dates, and that she is WAY cuter than she thinks.
I was sorely tempted on Prime Days by a robotic vacuum and the super-cheap Fire Stick, but was able to stick with the boycott by virtue of finally figuring out how to hook up my Wi-Fi enabled BluRay (YouTube on my TV! So exciting!) and finding a similarly-priced vacuum on Zulily. It shipped today, so I don't love it yet, but I'm super-anticipate-y!
Glad to hear good news about J, sj!
Plenty of ~ma for your son, Cindy!
Who feels like a little writing project?
I'm working on my goals (since my immediate supervisor retired, and the dept head keeps forgetting that we exist, my little group hasn't gotten our 2019 goals submitted yet, oops!) I've got a nice little BS collection that's probably good enough to submit, but I feel like I'd like to say something about
"managing to cover the most necessary of my former supervisor's duties while still doing my own job"
(the "and not killing anyone" is implied) But can't think of a proper way to phrase it so that it will get through as a goal and not just look like sarcasm and bitching. Help?
