Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse, are you an only child? I just ask, because I am, and I have a theory that this is a thing about only children: we're not that competitive, because we didn't have to be.

I am! And I think that's right. I have basically 0 competitiveness. I would like to do well in competition for myself, but I am also generally happy when others do well!

Coding and Sleeping

I'm in the only child club too. I don't think I'm all that competitive, I just don't want to ever fail.

I'm a youngest child. I observed the competition above me and decided it wasn't worth the effort. I was a great disappointment in my in-laws Thanksgiving board game competitions, because I preferred to actually win the game rather than go out of my way to send a competitor back to start when they were close to winning. If my beloved's family had been the Borgias, I'd never have eaten at their table.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, I feel like I deserve a cookie for scheduling appointments with 2 different doctors for this week. (I've slid into a curmudgeonly attitude of "Well, it'll probably go away if I ignore it," which has turned out to not be true for these things, both of which are minor but bothersome and really do need to be addressed.) I guess what I deserve the cookie for is not ignoring my rickety old body's various ailments (at least, not ignoring them for longer than 2 weeks).

I also need a haircut. Having a body is HARD. It needs so much fine-tuning and regular attention!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S started his program today.Seems like it went fairly well.(Some spitting in the morning, and at the end of the day, but otherwise good.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Having a body is HARD.

The daily ritual of "Name That Malaise!" Sleep dep? Stomach trouble? Lung trouble? Menopause playing ding-dong-ditch? Blood pressure picking today to go Krakatoa? Something brand new?

It was pretty fun!

I'm still mad I didn't get a haircut when I was OFF WORK FOR A WEEK. This week for sure. I'm going to call right now even though they are closed.

Our wings are not tired.

Awesome fun!

My hair is longer than it has been in many years. Like past shoulder blades long. Yesterday I ran into a woman who is on the very short list of people I allow to cut my hair and she was impressed. I don't expect I will cut it any time soon. It is long enough where it is easy to wrap up fancy for dress up, or pony tail for beach.
